This bonus Tuesday episode comes from an "ask me anything" press briefing held by the First Minister yesterday.
Topics range from the cost of living crisis, public sector pay deals, bullying in schools to Alister Jack's continuing assault on Scottish democracy.
This kind of direct broadcast from the FM proved very popular during the Covid pandemic and it will be interesting to see if it becomes an established part of the Scottish Government's communication strategy.

The Supreme Court decision confirmed that the UK is NOT a voluntary union. So how do we leave? That is the topic under discussion in this episode.
We are grateful to Yes Glasgow South Side for sharing their zoom Q+A event with Professor Aileen McHarg, prof of public law at Durham University. In this podcast episode we have taken selected questions from that event and spliced them together with clips from the Westminster Opposition Day debate which was also on the topic of what next for Scotland's future.
The outcome, at this point, is not clear. But these two events do provide some clarity on the legal and political barriers we have to overcome, as well as giving some hints as to how we might achieve that.

Think and do tank Commonweal have just published their new book "Sorted" a beautifully illustrated handbook to create a better Scotland for everybody who lives here.
We dropped into the book launch event in Glasgow to hear from some of the people who worked on the book, including architect Malcom Fraser, Commonweal Director Robin McAlpine and head of policy Craig Dalzell.
"Sorted" is an inspirational book that should get 2023 off on a positive note, get your copy from Commonweal's website https://commonweal.scot
Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Our final podcast for 2022 includes some of the response to the Supreme court ruling, the Time for Scotland events and we get a taste of things to come with a new SNP leader at Westminster.
We also look at some tetchy points of order and finish with a positive outlook for 2023 - there are reasons to be cheerful!

An episode of our Rising Clyde environmental show with host Iain Bruce talking to two activists based in South America about the legacy of COP27 and what happens next, particularly in relation to Colombia, Brazil and the Amazon rainforest.
Support for the Monarchy is lower in Scotland than the other parts of the Uk especially amongst younger people. This week's podcast is a meeting chaired by Alan Armstrong from the Radical Independence Campaign and is on the subject of a possible response to the Coronation of King Charles on 6th May 2023.
Taking part in the discussion is a panel including Maggie Chapman from the Scottish Greens, Tristan Gray from Our Republic, who organised a successful demonstration on Calton Hill in Edinburgh on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee.

Looking at the impact of war on women, this is a discussion between Maggie Lennon of Women for Independence and Ohla Maksochka. Before the Ukraine war, Ohla was a regional leader in Ukraine's leading feminist organisation. Now based in Scotland, she contributes her views of the war from a feminist perspective.
This discussion took place at the AGM of Women for Independence. Look out for more from that meeting in January.

Our special guest this week is author and academic Gerry Hassan. Gerry joined us in our studio to discuss some of the key ideas in his new book called Scotland Rising - the case for Independence (available at all good bookstores).
He explains how we can have a more nuanced discussion about Scottish independence if we realise that there are many ideas of Scotland and many ways of looking at the question.
Regular guest Bill Ramsay from Scottish CND joins us this week to bring us an update on issues gaining prominence from the war in Ukraine. The shelling of the nuclear power plant at Zaporizhzhia has highlighted the perils of nuclear power plants in war zones.
This is particularly topical as new nuclear power plants are being touted as a green solution to the climate emergency, which suggests an increase in this very dangerous scenario. Are new rules of engagement required to deal with the threat?
Bill takes us through the issues and also highlights an online event taking place at 7pm on 7th December looking at the Role of Peacemakers in Ukraine, a seminar with Professor Paul Rogers. Tickets are available from Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-role-of-peacemakers-in-the-ukraine-war-tickets-472554452087
