The Boy Scouts of America Alumni Association is established to help support scouting's goals of helping others at all times. Former scout leaders and community activists are encouraged to join the BSA Alumni Association. Their continued support of the scouting adventure helped support scouting into the future. The association makes sure that scouting stays strong for generations to come. To recognize member achievements within the association an attractive award has been developed. We will discuss the process of obtaining this highly sought-after square knot.

It's important that scouts and scouters who are bilingual display what language they are proficient in. This is a way of living up to being courteous and friendly. It also helps keep with the scout oath to help others at all times by being that interpreter that helps them understand what is going on in scouting. Today's technology can subtitle using closed captions on almost any video in any language. Almost every smartphone has an interpreter feature. Google can translate entire websites into a language that the user may be more comfortable reading. The interpreter strip is often forgotten as a good turn in scouting to help others.

Eagle Scouts are rare in the world. They represent individuals who have dedicated themselves to live their lives according to the Scout Oath and Law. Many of today's leaders are Eagle Scouts living fulfilling lives of leadership throughout our community. Scout leaders should dedicate themselves to promoting this achievement by mentoring young people towards it. Now that the first class of female Eagle Scouts has been officially recognized by Scouting BSA. The final barrier to young people is no longer an obstacle. Scouting should always be for all young people to participate in. Leaders all over our country need to rededicate themselves to young Scouts who are looking toward the mountain peak of Eagle Scout. The Scout Oath and Law are so important to the Scouting movement that young people should take it seriously. In the American Scout Law, the first two keywords are Trustworthy and Loyal. The first two points of the Scout Law build upon an individual's honor which is part of the Scout Oath. It is impossible to be loyal to someone who is not trustworthy. Scouts and Scouters do what they have committed to. A scout tells the truth, and they are honest. Scouts keep their promises and you can depend on them. The best example of this is being on time. Scouts and Scouters keep their commitments and work hard towards helping others.

On the 100th Anniversary of Scouting in America (2010), the Centennial series commemorated this incredible event. The BSA reintroduced 4 discontinued merit badges with gold borders. Also introduced were Cub Scout and Scout Troop 2010 Centennial ranks many camps and council celebrations also commemorated this Centennial event. The mysterious George Meany Award is uncovered from its mystery. National recognition was provided by the AFL-CIO executive council. It is to recognize scout leaders that are union members and have given significant contributions (not money) to the youth in their community. This is very exclusive as there is only one awarded each year. If there is no suitable candidate there is no award, and the award is never given posthumously.

Most unit leaders may not be aware of the structure of their District and how important it is. The District is a critical part of your Council in its direct operations with all Scouting units in your area. The District Committee has 4 standard functions that directly relate to all Packs, Troops, Crews, Ships, and Posts. The District Committee Chair and District Commissioner work directly with the District Executives to manage all of the departments within the scope of leading activities within your District. A basic understanding of how this structure works for you is essential to understanding what is happening within your District.

Schoolroom visits are getting more essential to good recruitment. Many school-age children do not know that they can join Scouting and have the adventures of a lifetime. As an adult leader, you've been asked to help out with schoolroom visits and don't know where to start. This video will help you get up to speed and become knowledgeable about schoolroom visits.
