Brian Huskey is an improviser, writer, actor who started out on a very different path. He's from North Carolina where he thought he'd probably be a photographer until he met Rob Corddry in New York City. Taking improv at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater changed everything. Anson Mount was kind enough to let me meet up with him at his hotel while he was in Los Angeles promoting the upcoming Marvel's Inhumans TV show on ABC. He plays the iconic character: Black Bolt. Black Bolt is mostly a mute because of his vocal powers. his voice can destroy. We talk about the challenges of playing a character that doesn't speak and the sign language he created to use on the show, we also talk about the possibility of life on other planets, his lead role as Cullen Bohannon on AMC's hit show, Hell on Wheels, reading comics as kid, vaping, developing his own podcast, working with Robert DeNiro in City by the Sea, working with Britney Spears, Zoe Saldana and Taryn Manning in Crossroads, getting engaged, having the same name as his brother and so much more!!! Danielle MacDonald is the lead in a great new independent film called Patti Cake$ (out August 18th in NY and LA). I got to go to an early screening of the film and meet Danielle. I loved the film and her performance in it. I was very impressed that an actress from Australia could play a rapper from New Jersey. Silly me. Well I thought she did such a great job I wanted to talk to her about it and her life. We talk about growing up in Australia, her decision to pop into acting and how she transitioned into moving to America, training and practicing the rapping for months before she filmed the movie, working on other projects with actors like Alexander Skarsgard (who got naked in front of her), playing Diane Lanes daughter and how Diane really took Danielle under her wing, doing an episode of American Horror Story, how she lost a lead role on a TV show because her VISA ran out, being on Glee, working with Clark Gregg, meeting Amy Schumer and so much more!!! Gabriel Luna is the new GHOST RIDER!!! And I couldn't be happier! Elizabeth Lucas-Smith and I met in San Francisco back in 2007. 10 years later we meet up (outside of San Fran) and continue a talk we started a decade ago. We talk about the hereditary and degenerative eye disease - Choroideremia. Its a disease that hits both of our lives and families very hard. She is a carrier of it and I am going blind from it. Liz recently had twin girls who will likely be carriers of the gene and she recently had her son tested and was found to have Choroideremia. We talk about being a carrier, being raised by a blind father, having blind uncles, her feelings of passing on the gene, we also talk about her love of her husband, and how she struggled with postpartum depression, and so much more!!!
