  • 220: SOLO (2013) and SHADOW: DEAD RIOT (2006)
THIS EPISODE WAS SPONSORED BY PATRON CHRIIS SCHAFER!

    (Main segment begins at 10:00)

My apologies for the lateness of the episode.  My hosting company was bought out by another larger corporation, and I've been locked out of the account for over a week.

It's my birthday show, so to celebrate I'm putting one listener's taste in movies to the test and making another QUEEN FOR A DAY!

Listener STEVE YOTT must face both my possible wrath and also the THE FIRING SQUAD for recommending the Canadian summer camp thriller, SOLO. Will I be showering Steve with praise, cookies and tiaras galore for uncovering an undiscovered gem? Or will I be publicly peppering him with imaginary bullets and blatant sexual innuendo and with groping, sweaty hands of the boys with their cocks a gunning.

A troubled teen gets a chance to work as a summer camp counselor, but first she must pass her two night solo camping excursion test on a secluded forest island. But it turns out she isn't alone after all. And she'll be lucky to get out alive.

This episode is also the first one sponsored by Patron CHRIISS SCHAFFER who gets to pick whatever movie he wants me to cover on the show. Chriis has selected the Women's Prison Karate Zombie exploitation flick SHADOW: DEAD RIOT starring TONY TODD in a dollar store Rasta wig and a huge supporting cast of exposed jiggling inmate breasts.

Can Michelle Obama interpret her visions in time to stop the zombie uprising? Can warden Elise Keaton save her prisoners from mutant babies and a yard full of dinosaur ghosts? Does anyone in this facility own a top?

Plus, celebrity voicemails galore and a very special announcement.

  • 219: *REPOST* THE WICKER MAN (1973) with CHRYSTEN PEDDIE and DAN COHEN from KILLING YOUR DARLINGS
    (Main segment begins at 6:45)

Alternative Movie Posters by Scott Woolston

This time, I'm releasing the episode with a brand new intro and without the horrendous mixing problems!

I'm thrilled to have CHRYSTEN PEDDIE and DAN COHEN from the KILLING YOUR DARLINGS podcast joining me once again to talk about one of my all-time favorite horror movies, THE WICKER MAN from 1973!

When Inspector Howie (EDWARD WOODARD) visits the mysterious community of Summerisle to investigate reports of a missing child, he finds himself in more trouble than he could ever imagine. CHRISTOPHER LEE, BRITT EKLAND and INGRID PITT co-star in what has been called "the CITIZEN KANE of British Horror".

Also, find out what's going on with that cat in a particularly aromatic edition of SMOOCHIE WATCH.

  • 218: APRIL FOOL’S DAY (1986) with ALLISON NOWACKI & BRYAN POLK

    (Main segment begins at 9:00)

It's that glorious day once once again: that day that all horror fanatics look forward to with a tasty mixture of dread and anticipation.

It's FRIDAY THE 13th!  And that means only one thing to the ScreamQueenz listeners...it's time for another FRIDAY THE 13th SPECTACULAR!

Since we've already covered all the F13 films in the series, we're taking a looking at the 1986 whodunnit APRIL FOOL'S DAY produced by FRANK MANCUSO JR (F13 2-7, F13: The Series) and starring the series' beloved Final Girl AMY STEEL (F13 Part 2).

Joining me once again are my favorite wacky Californians ALLISON NOWACKI and BRYAN POLK.

But the real horror awaits when Allison realizes there are NO BOOBS in this movie.

    I may not survive.

Also, fat kitties, hair dye fails and a visit from some friendly gay ghosts.

  • 217: THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM (2016) & ARBOR DEMON (2016)
    (Main segment begins at 25:00)

I'm back after my stint in the ok hospital, and so is THE CRAPSHOOT!

Since I missed getting an episode to you earlier in the month, you're getting a double dose of Direct To Video horror movies that I picked at random in search of that elusive diamond in the shitpile.

THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is a blood-drenched Victorian-era murder mystery set against the lurid yet hypnotic world of the bawdy music hall scene. Can BILL NIGHY catch a killer so brutal he'd make JACK THE RIPPER go pale?

ARBOR DEMON pits FIONA DOURIF and JAKE BUSEY against an unseen unstoppable supernatural force that's determined to scare you out of ever going camping again!

But the big question is...are these movies any good?  Or are they just more CRAP?

Also, all the details of my battle back to health, Cat vs. Nurse, Spongebob Hamilton, a call to horror filmmakers to raise their own bar, and why THE SHAPE OF WATER is not only the best movie of the year...it's the QUEEREST!

Join me in celebrating WOMEN IN HORROR Month with one of my all-time favorite bad girls: PATTY MCCORMACK's legendary performance as the murderous little RHODA PENMARK in 1956's classic shocker THE BAD SEED.

I'm joined by two more fabulous women in horror: Actress ALYSSA SIMON and filmmaker JESSI GOTTA who are also here to talk about their new film THE MOOSEHEAD OVER THE MANTEL: a movie as smart as it is unsettling.

(Main segment begins at 6:00)New Year's Eve may be over, but there's still one more party to attend...and it might be your last one ever!  We're discussing the 1980 slasher whodunnit classic TERROR TRAIN starring the original scream queen,  JAMIE LEIGH CURTIS!

A year's end costume party aboard an antique excursion train turns deadly for a group of medical students when a prank victim from their past returns to seek revenge in this beloved whodunnit.

Thank you to PATRON STEVE for selecting this Canadian gem as his reward.

  • 213: JIGSAW (2017)
    (main segment begins at [6:30])
Kick off 2018 with a little taste of what you’re missing on THE FINAL REEL, the exclusive feed for Patreon subscribers.

Seeing that it just became available on video, it seems important to issue the same stern warning I gave to my Patrons in November:  Avoid JIGSAW at all costs!  There are literally no redeeming qualities to this trainwreck almost ten years in the making, and you will hate yourself in the morning. If by any chance my review makes it sound “so bad it’s good”, it’s not.  It’s tedious and shockingly lazy, and let’s face it…you deserve better than that.

If by some means you see it anyway, don’t come crying to me afterwards!
You were warned.  Some of you were warned twice.
Even TOBIN BELL isn’t this patient..
Also, listener feedback, the announcement of juicy new Patreon perks, and new ScreamQueenz of the Week are crowned!

    [powerpress]
