  • Screw the Naysayers - Angela Maiers: Changing the World One Child at a Time
Angela Maiers is visionary, entrepreneur, educator, disruptor, author of eight books, and an exceptional communicator. The simplicity of her message - You Matter - is at the heart of the Choose2Matter global movement that encourages every individual to embrace their value and contribution. Choose2Matter began with a TED Talk she gave in 2011 that went viral. Since then Angela has worked in classrooms across 100 countries and has rallied more than one million children who have bounded together to launch 170 social enterprises and pass 17 laws. This is a must-listen episode for anyone that is questioning their direction in life, or struggling to define their purpose. And frankly, for anyone that gives a damn about the future of humanity. • Screw the Naysayers - Goldie Chan: Social Media with a Purpose
Goldie Chan is weird, and proud of it! But don’t let her looks fool you. The girl with the green hair and funky hats takes her work seriously. Described by the Huffington Post as “The Oprah of LinkedIn Videos”, Goldie is Head of Strategy and Creative at her social media agency, Warm Robots. Warm Robots helps major brands (B2B and B2C) produce Social Media with Purpose (in her words, "turning a good brand story into a great one"). Goldie’s show on LinkedIn is the longest running original daily video channel (she’s committed to a minimum of 365 consecutive #DailyGoldie shows). She also serves on the Producer’s Guild of America’s New Media Council. In this episode, Goldie describes her journey from Stanford Geneticist to failed fashion entrepreneur to entry level marketer to Viral Brand Marketer. It’s a fascinating story that will inspire and inform. Along the way she gives some awesome advice for anyone looking to use video to build a personal or business brand, she throws in her two cents on the future of postsecondary education. To prove she is human, I did get her to admit one thing she sucks at (You’ll have to tune in if you want to know what that is). You can follow/contact Goldie at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/goldie/ https://www.instagram.com/goldiecylon/

  • Screw the Naysayers - Tofe Evans: When Shit Hits The Fan
Not that many years ago, Tofe Evans came close to ending his own life. Today he is a best selling author, an international speaker, and in his words, a boundary pusher. Tofe’s boundaries, when it comes to endurance, are what many of us would consider to impossibilities. You see Tofe runs ultra marathons (100k) and the most recent also included almost 6,000 steps. He doesn’t compete to win. He competes to see how far he can push himself. He does it to learn things about human resilience (in this episode he talks about a system he’s developed called “Practical Resilience).” Tofe also opens up about his challenges with mental health, his lifelong journey for knowledge (you can tell this guy is a voracious reader), and tells us about his best selling book, “Everyone Has a Plan Until Shit Hits the Fan.” We talk about the importance of mindset, why you need to embrace adversity, and how gratitude will change your definition of reality. Interesting, fascinating, inspiring...that is Tofe Evans. You can reach Tofe at www.tofe-evans.com. He’s also very active on LinkedIn and looking to make human connections. Anyone looking for a world class motivational speaker should get in touch with Tofe.
