  • 26 When We Release Our Inner Exiles From Captivity Only to Find Them Back in Their Same Patterns of Behavior

Baruch 1:15-18 says, "During the Babylonian captivity, the exiles prayed: 'Justice is with the Lord, our God; and we today are flushed with shame, we men of Judah and citizens of Jerusalem, that we, with our kings and rulers and priests and prophets, and with our ancestors, have sinned in the Lord's sight and disobeyed him.’" In today’s reflection, Dr. Gerry Crete comments on how our internal exiles can feel liberated at times but return to old patterns of disordered behavior and how there is hope in God’s mercy for these parts of us. • 25 What Does It Feel Like to Want to Worship?

On the feast of the Guardian Angels, we reflect on what it feels like to worship, as the Israelites did in today’s First Reading from the book of Nehemiah. Sometimes, while in prayer, we can be overtaken by a zealous part that wants to worship out of fear or out of a false image of God, rather than out of love. Other times, our prayer time can devolve into “me time,” when our parts create an internal monologue focused on ourselves rather than on God. Memorial of the Guardian Angels

  • 19 Who Do You Say That I Am?

In today's Gospel reading, Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” If we ask that same question to ourselves, we will likely find many different answers bubbling up inside, corresponding to how different parts of us have had different experiences and thus images of God. About Scripture for Your Inner Outcasts

From the publisher's feed

In the Gospels, Jesus reaches out to the outcasts, the most marginalized and rejected members of His society. In this very brief podcast, we take His approach inside – to reach out to your inner outcasts, the parts of you who are walking in darkness and gloom. Listen in and invite the Good News in the daily Mass readings to shine on your inner lost sheep, your inner prodigals, your inner lepers, your lame, deaf, and blind parts, your inner tax collectors, and your inner prostitutes – all those parts of you deemed unworthy and unacceptable by your protector parts.
