Sean Shannon was a prodigiously gifted young pianist from Co. Clare.
The 18-year-old from Ennis was self-taught and his numerous renowned recitals had led to him earning a place as Glór’s youngest ever associate.
Sean had recently graduated from Ennis Community College and was studying for a Bachelors degree in Music Performance, when he sadly passed away in August 2023.
There was no doubt that Sean had a very bright future ahead of him.
The Sean Shannon Music Foundation was created to commemorate Sean’s life and talent.
To learn more about this, Alan Morrissey was joined by co-director of the Sean Shannon Music Foundation, Margot Maurel, and Dublin based composer/trumpeter, Aoife O’Donovan.
