Air humping, a discussion about the metric system, and a first appearance of our new cohost, Frank the Robot! It's all happening as usual over at Seaside Pod Review headquarters as Kev strolls down memory lane and regales Randy with tales of picking up cassette tapes. Randy seems fairly bored by this and is much more interested in the combination of synth base and pure Deacy on today's track. If we were to title this episode we'd call it "Freddie does funk"

Cardinal Woods wants you to all stop fiddling with your EQs, Kev is adamant about the cheese and pickle sandwiches, and the boys are once again aligned in their appraisal of this track. A nod to Joe from in the Lap of the Pods - for his rocked up cover of this one. The boys also debated the merits of synth bass, Kev's eagle ear (is that a thing?) picked up something Randy didn't catch the first time through, but to counteract this moment of genius, he also let the song run too long a few times too so there are some breaks in the music here and there - do not adjust your sets!

Today's episode covers Staying Power, the opening track from 1982's Hot Space. It’s only a bloody record. People get so excited about these things.

If we were to title this episode we'd call it "Polish all your shiny buttons dressed as lamb instead of mutton"

There's more chat about sandwiches than you might expect in this episode. Kev was also really quite drunk during the recording and couldn't figure out how to end it, so it's probably longer than it needs to be. Randy put up with the shenanigans with his usual good grace however and deftly explain natural vs pinched harmonics. It's a fourth song from Innuendo on this week's pod. Don't Try So Hard is the fifth song from the album and features lush synths and real percussion. Kev and Randy were unanimous on their verdict on this one. Don't forget to go vote on the polls!

Today we get a classic deep cut from a classic album. Good Company is a Brian May tour-de-force, in which he labours for days to assemble a New Orleans style ragtime band using only his Red Special. The silly goose could have just brought in some session players instead! But then we wouldn't have this brilliant bit of technical virtuosity to wonder at. We introduce our very first Tweet of the Week and explore the subtleties of time management. Also, we learn that Randy can't wrap his head around Northern English dialect.

The Cardinal of the Church of Go Fuck Yourself delivers a sermon in his church, Metallica make a shocking appearance, and the boys talk about Mary Austin selling Freddie's possessions at auction. It's another very silly hour and we hope you enjoy it.

Queen's rearrangement of 1985's I Was Born To Love You is the topic of conversation today and Kev and Randy dig into both the Queen version and the original Freddie version.
