Cystitis is a condition in which the bladder becomes inflamed and irritated. While there are many physical causes of this condition, recent research has also shown that emotional factors and psychological issues can also contribute to cystitis symptoms.
Psychosomatics of cystitis involves looking at how our minds and emotions interact with our bodies and how the condition can be both a result and cause of psychological distress. Studies have found that people who experience high levels of anxiety or stress are more likely to develop cystitis, as well as other urinary conditions. Additionally, chronic cystitis may lead to frustration and depression due to the chronic pain associated with it.
