Elizabeth's curiosity about the history of Mr. Wickham's acquaintance with Mr. Darcy is unexpectedly relieved, as Mr. Wickham begins the subject himself.

Mr. Bennet thinks it time to have some conversation with his guest. By tea-time however the dose had been enough.

Mr. Collins, who, when Mr. Bennet is dead, may turn all his daughters out of the house as soon as he pleases, comes to Longbourn prepared to admire his fair cousins. 

Jane and Elizabeth are not welcomed home very cordially by their mother.

Mr. Bingley is full of joy and attention for Jane. Miss Bingley invites Elizabeth to take a turn about the room. Mr. Darcy can imagine but two motives for their choosing to walk up and down the room together. (Spoilers for later plot points during 01:05-03:07)

Mr. Darcy has never been so bewitched by any woman as he is by Elizabeth. He really believes, that were it not for the inferiority of her connections, he should be in some danger. (Spoilers for later plot points during 42:09-44:16)

On seeing that Jane's illness is not alarming, Mrs. Bennet has no wish of her recovering immediately. Elizabeth wonders who first discovered the efficacy of poetry in driving away love. Lydia taxes Mr. Bingley with having promised to give a ball at Netherfield. 

Mr. Darcy cannot boast of knowing more than half a dozen women, in the whole range of his acquaintance, that are really accomplished. Elizabeth, having never seen such a woman as he describes, wonders at his knowing any. 

Mrs. Bennet has a lucky idea. Jane finds herself very unwell. Mr. Bennet is comforted that if Jane should die, it was under Mrs. Bennet's orders. Elizabeth walks to Netherfield Park, where her appearance creates a great deal of surprise.
