In a triumph for tyranny, the world’s nations will be honoring and legitimating today the genocidal Chinese Communist Party. No good can come of the Genocide Games in Beijing.
Not since 1936, when Adolf Hitler hosted the Summer Olympics in the Third Reich’s Berlin, has the so-called “international community” provided a bigger propaganda windfall for so monstrous a regime. Just as the effect then was an emboldened megalomaniac and mass murder at his hands, both at home and abroad, Chinese dictator Xi Jinping is sure to feel the way clear to intensify with impunity his domestic oppression and his foreign aggression.
The very least we can do is deny the Chinese Communist Party – and its enablers like broadcaster NBC – the global audience they seek by refusing to watch the Genocide Games. Join us in turning off these odious Olympics at GenocideGames.org.

The weather is awful in much of the country at the moment. In Texas, it is also an ominous reminder of a “perfect storm” that took down that state’s electric grid a year ago, costing many lives and over $100 billion in other damage. Hopefully, such a disaster is not in the offing now.
But there could be a repetition. Despite Governor Greg Abbott’s repeated assurances that the vulnerabilities that gave rise to last year’s crisis have been fixed thanks to state legislation enacted in the intervening period, his grid’s serious shortcomings persist.
Whatever happens with the present mega-storm, Governor Abbot needs to call a special session of the state legislature and task it with actually assuring the Texas grid’s resiliency – both to protect his own constituents and to serve as a model for the rest of our country.

FBI Director Christopher Wray sounded an urgent alarm yesterday at the Reagan Library. He warned that Communist China is, well, eating our lunch.
Thanks to the CCP’s systematic espionage, cyberwarfare, intellectual property theft and active subversion, there is, in Director Wray’s words, “No country that presents a broader threat to our ideas, our innovation, and our economic security than China.” It is, in short, our mortal enemy.
Yet, the Biden Justice Department is reportedly giving serious consideration to the demands of “Old Friends of China.” They claim the FBI and DoJ are engaged in xenophobic and racist witchhunts against innocent Chinese nationals and others in Beijing’s so-called “Thousand Talents” recruitment program.
To paraphrase “Jaws”: If anything, we’re gonna need a bigger “China Initiative” to counteract the Biden team’s efforts to “manage” Communist China’s inevitable “rise,” and America’s inexorable and desirable decline.

Remarkably, as Black History Month gets underway, the man who is arguably the most powerful black American, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas – having served with distinction in that role for thirty years – is being aggressively denigrated by the left. Its operatives transparently seek to discredit and otherwise diminish a man for being a principled and impactful conservative.
The present campaign does so by vilifying Justice Thomas’ wife, Ginni, another principled conservative whom I am privileged to call a valued colleague. Leftist partisans in the media and their allies want to negate both Mrs. Thomas’ effective public policy activism and the Justice’s votes by dictating when he must recuse himself from cases before the Court.
Both Clarence and Ginni Thomas have exhibited immense courage, integrity and independent thought over the years. They deserve our nation’s thanks, not the left’s scurrilous attacks.

We lost two Great Americans last weekend. Their deaths would have been mourned at any time, but especially so in this perilous moment.
The first was a storied military leader, one-hundred-year-old Army Major General John Singlaub, Jack was a Special Forces warrior who performed extraordinary feats as a member of the Office of Strategic Services in World War II, during the Chinese civil war, in Korea and Vietnam. His courage and unwavering opposition to Communism were inspirations to countless others here and around the world.
The second was Larry Greenfield, a much younger man, but also a life-long freedom-fighter. While Larry served as a naval intelligence officer, he will be most remembered for his many non-kinetic contributions in the War of Ideas on behalf of our exceptional country and its most important ally, Israel.
God bless these departed national treasures.

Winston Churchill described World War II as the “unnecessary war.” He believed, rightly, that the West’s failure to understand and counter early on the territorial and other hegemonic ambitions of its totalitarian foes made an otherwise avoidable conflict inevitable.
That failure was made palpable in the British and French governments’ negotiations with Adolf Hitler behind the backs of their Czech allies. The resulting agreement produced not peace in that time, but the loss of a Free World nation and set in motion Axis aggression in Europe and elsewhere.
The bilateral and NATO diplomacy now underway with Russia’s Putin, excluding the Ukrainians, is signaling again the West’s irresolution and weakness. Tragically, as in 1938, the world seems likely soon to reap the whirlwind, not only in Eastern Europe, but in Asia and the Middle East, in the next, horrific and unnecessary global war.

The wrecking operation that passes for Joe Biden's administration has just prematurely ended the career of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. No sooner had the President unilaterally announced Justice Breyer's departure than he declared that only a black woman would be considered as his replacement.
Mr. Biden made a similar, constitutionally challenged, indeed racist commitment with respect to his vice-presidential selection of Kamala Harris and even Joe Biden seems to have realized that was an unadulterated mistake. In fact, they get along so badly that he reportedly is prepared to nominate Kamala as Breyer's replacement just to get her out of the White House.
Fortunately, the American people having been fooled once by Biden's racist appointment of someone of such limited ability and even less personal appeal seem unlikely to agree to her obtaining a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court.

The Biden administration would have us believe that it is robustly opposing a potentially imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine.
At the same time, however, Team Biden is sending a very mixed signal to Moscow. As part of its obsession with reaching some new Iran nuclear agreement, U.S. diplomats are reportedly relying on their Russian counterparts to facilitate secret negotiations with the mullahs. There are many reasons to be concerned about this activity – including its lubrication by the release to Tehran of billions of dollars held by South Korea and the promised, premature termination of sanctions.
But you can’t both expect to deter a thug like Vladimir Putin and rely on his good offices vis a vis Iran. Wars often start by miscalculation. And encouraging perceptions of, at best, Washington’s incoherence, and at worst, its cynical dishonesty about protecting Ukraine actually invites it.

According to legend, a single, courageous Roman warrior named Horatius successfully defended a bridge against an invading army, sparing his city from certain destruction. It turns out that we have a Horatius in the U.S. Senate: Ron Johnson of Wisconsin.
Yesterday, Senator Johnson convened an informal hearing about the Covid-19 virus and the toll it has needlessly taken on our countrymen and women due to governmental and media ineptitude and malfeasance. He took five hours of testimony from leading medical practitioners, vaccine victims and other experts who participated in an extraordinary “Defeat the Mandates” march in Washington the day before.
On this issue and the Big Lie about January 6th being an “insurrection,” Senator Johnson is singlehandedly showing his Republican colleagues what they can, and must, do this year – even in the minority: Namely, expose the truth.
Godspeed Horatius Johnson!

The case for U.S. athletes to skip the Winter Games in Beijing keep growing – and the failure of Olympic authorities to pull the plug becomes ever more egregious.
For one thing, the public health crisis that has prompted the Chinese Communist Party to lockdown conservatively seventy million people around the country has reached Beijing, as well.
For another, the Olympics are shaping up to be an even bigger super-spreader event than the notorious Wuhan New Year’s pot-luck that helped disseminate Covid-19 worldwide. Will our athletes and others potentially infected in Beijing be welcomed home, and, if so, how soon?
The problem has become so acute that two of the news networks that will be enabling the CCP’s propaganda-fest now won’t send their announce teams to Beijing, lest their personnel get sick.
Our Olympians must now be told “Don’t go there.”
