Breitbart.com reported this week that the Chinese Communists claim to have outperformed Hollywood at the global box office. True or not, we mustn’t ignore the importance our mortal enemies assign to winning the culture war.
That’s because, as the late, great Andrew Breitbart famously observed, “Politics is downstream from culture.” The CCP’s bid for dominating the world politically required that it buy up, control and otherwise eviscerate the U.S. movie industry – and it has done so. Beijing’s boast about crushing Hollywood with a propaganda film about China defeating American Marines in Korea is a milestone in the countdown to coming kinetic conflicts.
When that happens – possibly as soon as this March – where will we find our Frank Capra, the iconic filmmaker who rallied our country to victory in World War II? Sadly, his counterpart now works for the Chinese Communist Party.

Today will witness one of the most brazen acts of political theater and deflection in our nation’s history. Partisan Democrats from President Biden on down will weaponize the anniversary of an event at the U.S. Capital one year ago not only to promote a false narrative and vilify those who challenge it.
They also intend to exploit the so-called 1/6 “insurrection” to force through the Senate legislation that would effectively foreclose any future prospect of honest elections. Insult is added to injury by the proponents’ insistence on gutting the filibuster to enact the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and “save democracy.”
Here’s the truth: There was no insurrection a year ago. The 2020 presidential election was stolen. And, stripping states of their constitutional rights to set voter ID and other, necessary election integrity rules, will end our Republic, not save it.

President James Monroe declared that external powers’ colonization of the Western Hemisphere would be regarded as a hostile act against this country. Yet today, the Chinese Communist Party, Russia and Iran are working with impunity to transform all of Latin America into a no-go zone for the United States and for freedom.
Unfortunately, Joe Biden is uninterested in the Monroe Doctrine and, with the Communist takeovers of Peru and Chile last year, the stage is set for the region’s last two important free nations – Colombia and Brazil – to undergo the radical left’s “fundamental transformation.” As former Peruvian Vice President Francisco Tudela warns in a powerful new White Paper, that will mean trouble for us, too, with intensified drug-trafficking, destabilization of the hemisphere and intensified migration here of millions more illegal aliens.

A year ago, an event occurred at the Capitol that we have been incessantly told was a violent “insurrection” by Trump supporters seeking to overthrow the U.S. government. A House committee is about to hold hearings that will promote this narrative.
And congressional Democrats are hoping to exploit it to enact electoral legislation that will keep them in power permanently.
But what if that narrative is wrong? None of those being prosecuted for the January 6th disturbance at the Capitol have been charged with insurrection. The FBI has been implicated in fomenting it. And the place was left inadequately protected, despite intelligence warnings there could be problems.
Questions that occur are: What did Speaker Pelosi know and when about the FBI’s involvement in encouraging people to enter the Capitol and its police deciding to open the doors to allow them in?

Happy New Year and all the best for a healthy, prosperous and secure 2022!
Now, for a reality check. There’s a real chance that the year ahead will see warfare breaking out, possibly globally, unlike anything ever seen before. All other things being equal, perhaps as soon as March, post-Olympics, the Chinese Communists may be ready to attack Taiwan and/or India. Conditions may be ripe for a Russian invasion of Ukraine. And Iran is likely to have the Bomb, prompting it to strike Israel – or vice versa.
It may still be possible to deter such traumas, but only if we understand the danger and rise appropriately to it. This will require that we pull together and are robustly led.
In the hope of encouraging such responses, our Center for Security Policy is launching today a Countdown to Conflict.
Stay tuned for updates.

There are lots of good reasons to boycott the Beijing Olympic Games. For one, the Biden administration felt compelled to pull all official U.S. government representation because of the Chinese Communist Party’s genocide and other crimes against humanity.
For another, the CCP is actively threatening to attack Taiwan and it will surely interpret business-as-usual at the Olympics as a green light for doing so.
Now, the National Hockey League is reportedly poised to give these Genocide Games a miss out of concern about the health of its players scheduled to participate. If they get sick with the Covid-19 virus the Chinese Communists unleashed on the world, they could spend three-to-five weeks in mandatory quarantine in Beijing – to say nothing of being subjected to China’s problematic government health care system.
Every American athlete should forgo the Genocide Games.

It has been clear for months that Joe Biden is not physically up to the job of President of the United States. Of late, concern has grown that he’s not actually doing that job, either.
Last week, Mr. Biden engaged in perhaps the most bizarre behavior of anyone who has ever occupied the Oval Office: He repeatedly referred to someone who does not as “President Harris.” What’s going on?
Maybe it’s more than obvious cognitive decline.
In 1966, a heroic prisoner of war in Vietnam named Jeremiah Denton blinked the word TORTURE in Morse Code during a TV interview to tell viewers what he and other POWs were experiencing. Could Joe Biden’s repeated references to President Harris be a similar, desperate appeal for his rescue from unidentified handlers engaging in what amounts to elder abuse?
Can we responsibly ignore that possibility?

A Communist was elected to the presidency of Chile on Sunday. Gabriel Boric will now pull his country fully into the camp of Marxists who run most of our hemisphere – and intend to take over the rest next year.
Such “fundamental transformations” generally involve a radical leftist rewrite of the national constitution. Power is consolidated in the executive’s hands, state expropriation of key industries is authorized, as is the redistribution of wealth and property. Sound familiar? That’s because this formula has destroyed freedom and prosperity everywhere it has been implemented.
Our Center for Security Policy warned in a powerful webinar last week that this outcome would be disastrous for Chile. Worse yet, it sets the stage for similarly ominous outcomes in votes in what are basically the hemisphere’s last-standing Free World nations: Colombia and Brazil.

Winston Churchill described the run up to World War II as “the Gathering Storm.” Today’s geostrategic “atmospheric” conditions suggest that another global conflagration is in the offing in our time.
Consider the following indicators of heavy weather inbound: Communist China is building up its forces for attacks on Taiwan and/or India. Russia has massed 100,000 troops on its border with Ukraine. Iran’s nuclear weapons program could bear fruit at any time, resulting in a devastating attack on, or by, Israel. North Korea has most of its million-man army poised to invade South Korea.
Each of these enemies of freedom actively talk about their intention to exercise these options. And, if any of them do so, chances are good that one or more of the others – whether by pre-arrangement or sheer opportunism – will pile on.
Forewarned better be forearmed.

Ronald Reagan correctly observed that “Personnel is policy.” And Team Biden has repeatedly proven that bad appointments result in terrible policies. Fortunately, the U.S. Senate has a chance to prevent additional harm by blocking the nomination of an advocate for Islamist policies to a senior State Department post.
Unfortunately, its Foreign Relations Committee yesterday approved the nomination of Rashad Hussain to become the top diplomat responsible for promoting religious liberty around the world. Moderate Muslims have warned against this appointment of a co-religionist on the grounds that, as one put it: “Mr. Hussain has protected and advanced the illiberal values of Islamic theocracies that perpetuate a disturbing and hateful ideology of Muslim supremacy.”
Muslim Brotherhood front groups enthusiastically support Rashad Hussain. If Senators object to the intolerant policies favored by such Sharia-supremacists, they must disapprove the nomination of one of their champions.
