Ashland Viscosi believes that creativity doesn't stop with an idea, and if you have the right tools and the right support, it can also be turned into a business. After working in film production and also honing her marketing skills at an art-based non-profit, she realized that not enough artists were considering themselves "entrepreneurs".
Creatives Meet Business was founded in 2016 as small roundtable events where people from all different backgrounds could come and find community and support through their business endeavours. Now, creatives and entrepreneurs alike can attend CMBXP, a three day event in Austin, TX featuring workshops, networking opportunities, and an overall goal to bridge the gap between "creative" and "business". They can also listen to the Creatives Meet Business podcast for more industry advice.

"When it came back to us creating this product for women, it felt amazing, but it also felt like the next logical step. To take all of the things that we had done ourselves in our own world, in our own life and bring it out to the world and help other women..." [16:14]

Dia worked separately as a communicatons coach AND an auctioneer for years before crashing her two worlds together. After acting as an auctioneer for women-led nonprofits, Dia noticed that so many women are setting their expectations low, in terms of what they think they can get.
With Ask Like an Auctioneer, Dia teaches her clients how to be courageous, control the conversation, and aim for "no" to maximize the potential of the ask.
"Confidence is an outcome, not a prerequisite for doing something corageous" [16:54]

Health and wellness has always been a big part of Stephanie and Erica's lives. As two business women on-the-go, they noticed a clear absence of healthy protien options specifically made for women. And of the options they did have, so many tasted like pure cardboard.
They knew there had to be a better way, and set out to create the perfect protein products - founded by, owned by, and inspired by powerful women.
TRUWOMEN is changing the game with healthy protein options made with natural, vegan ingrediants that don't slack on taste.

After getting caught in a child custody litigation with a former spouse and dealing with subsequent econimic turmoil, Rhonda felt cheated by the legal systems in place for family cases. These systems were meant to protect children and families in crisis, but were doing just the opposite.
Rhonda founded SPEAKLove to change that. SPEAKLove "provides education regarding the systemic problems in family law, a support network for families in crises, and social welfare/community outreach efforts to help reduce the impact of the hardships created from adversarial family law litigations.”

Melinda Garvey has made an incredibly successful career out of motivating women, and highlighting inspirational female role models. But where did she get her start?
After moving to Austin and starting a new job, Melinda was struggling with feeling like she belonged and was desperate to make a change. Luckily, inspiration struck at the perfect time. During the first tech boom in Austin, it seemed like notable men were the face of every cover of every magazine. There was a serious lack of female voices in the conversation, Melinda knew it was her job to change that.
In September of 2002, Austin Woman Magazine was launched. Now, nearly 17 years later Ausitn Woman is the leading magazine for women in Austin. And in April of 2016, Melinda launched On The Dot Woman, the global online newsletter for female empowerment everywhere.
Melinda believes that all women should know their worth, and her career reflects that in every way. Learn more about Austin Woman and On The Dot Woman below!

After starting her career off in marketing, Paulina was shocked to see many entry-level jobs replaced by computers. Whole sectors that used to take up entire floors had been reduced to small offices with 7-8 employees. Who knew how long it would be before her job was obsolete, too?
She knew she had to act fast, but going back to school for an MBA seemed like a major investment with minor payoff. With the money she would spend on tuition, she could start her own business! From there, Brunchwork was born.
Brunchwork revolutionized networking. With a current, bleak economic market, networking for millenials has become more important than ever. Brunchwork makes networking easier, more accessible, and fun for "up-and-coming executives, entrepreneurs, and game-changers."

Jenn always knew she wanted to help people, but she wasn't sure how to do that and express herself creatively. Then it hit her. Literally, when a parallel grate collided with her bike's tire and sent her flying over the handle bars.
Moving forward, Jenn made it her mission to solve the grate problem, and many, many others through design campaigns that would help make positive social impact. Thus, Aha! Strategy and Civic Dinners were born.
With Aha! Strategy, Jenn wanted to create the bridge that takes great ideas and makes them a reality through "powerful messaging and well-designed communication."
And with Civic Dinners, she wanted to create a space where anyone could start a conversation about any idea... over food!
