See Through Panel

Hi gang, Season 2 is here! We are kicking off with an interview with John Peter Meiring, an illustrator and animator. We talk about his creative process, freelance work, and the shocking price of comic books in South Africa!

Born and Bred in South Africa, Pretoria. His art career started with his fascination with drawing dinosaurs, sharks and whales. He used to sit in front of the TV and pause on films like Free willy, Jurassic park and Never-ending story and try and draw the characters all the time.

Back then in the early 2000’s, there wasn’t a lot of options for Creative careers, so he decided to study Graphic Design to get started. But in the mists of going to college and learning what’s out there, he started to learn 2d animation as well while still illustrating comics and character designs.
