  • Episode 13 - SeaQuest DSV/2032: Such Great Patience
Today, the gals cover one of the lesser known sci fi series: SeaQuest DSV (or 2032 if you prefer). Though they went into it thinking they were going to watch an episode about mermaids, Amy and Sarah ended up with an ancient alien ship at the bottom of the sea. What did they learn? Sometimes mistakes make for “good” entertainment.

  • Episode 12 - Killer Klowns from Outer Space
This week, turnabout is fair play and Amy got to choose a movie for the girls to discuss. What did she choose? Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988). As you’ll see, there’s a LOT of questions to answer when it comes to this movie. What exact planet do these “klowns” hail from? Why are they so violent? Where do they get the ingredients for all that cotton candy? But perhaps the most important question of all is: will Sarah ever recover from having watched this?

  • Episode 11 - Battlestar Galactica: Murder on the Rising Star
Amy and Sarah talk about one of the heaviest hitters in the sci fi genre this week: Battlestar Galactica. Though the initial series lasted only one season, it has been launching spin-offs and re-boots for the past two decades. When you take humans off Earth because of a cybernetic rebellion, there's clearly a lot of ideas to explore. In this episode, however, things are on considerably more familiar terrain. There's been a murder!

  • Episode 10 - Gravity
This week the Walsh girls talk about a recent major hit and award-winning exploration of space: Gravity (2013). Featuring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney (kind of), this movie may not qualify as science fiction for some. However, what the ladies discover, is that there might be more here than meets the eye and there are definitely enough liberties taken with physics to be in the realm of fiction.

  • Episode 09 - The Fly
Today, Amy and Sarah take you down one of the grosser paths ever covered on the podcast. Another re-boot of an earlier film, The Fly (1986) featured young Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum as tragic lovers Veronica Quaife and Seth Brundle. This movie forces the girls to confront the most important question of all: what exactly are those body parts in Brundlefly's medicine cabinet?

  • Episode 08 - The Stepford Wives
This week, the girls delve into the fun (or horrible) and fascinating world of feminist-inspired science fiction. In a twist, Sarah watched the original version from 1975 and Amy watched the re-boot from 2004. Turns out, no matter when they were made, both films portray problematic gender dynamics and visions of "what women want."
Maybe this one turned out to be a bit TOO timely...

  • Episode 07 - Alien vs. Predator
In the conclusion of our three-part Alien vs. Predator vs. Alien vs. Predator, the gals talk about unexpected plot twists and pleasant surprises for the film's heroine. Not like either of the previous films and yet not unlike them, Alien vs. Predator (2004) gave the people what they didn't know they wanted: the battle of the century with two equally dripping mouthbreathers.

  • Episode 06 - Predator
In part two of the Alien vs. Predator vs. Alien vs. Predator series, Sarah and Amy discuss the testosterone-fueled extravaganza that is Predator. Released in 1987, this film features a variety of body builders (and one guy in glasses) in a jungle mixing it up with guerrilleros and an unexpected alien.
    Get ready to talk explosions!!!!!

  • Episode 05 - Alien
This week the girls talk the 1979 classic: Alien. Before numerous sequels, spin-offs, and re-boots, but after Star Trek and Star Wars made space look cool, there was this monster movie thriller.
Please enjoy the first of our Alien vs. Predator vs. Alien vs. Predator mini-series.

  • Episode 04 - Sphere
Here we find the intrepid Walsh sisters endeavoring to overcome their fears about open water to discuss the movie Sphere. Released in 1998 and boasting an all-star cast, this underwater thriller asks the question, "What happens when an alien space ship lands in the ocean?"
The answer, as Amy and Sarah find out, is way more convoluted (some might say silly) than what you might expect.
