SEEing to Lead

We often forget about one of the most important types of communication when interacting with people. You ever hear of the old saying, "It's not what you say, but how you say it"? That's because as humans, we scan our environment and other people for signs of acceptance or threats and what we hear feeds into our conclusion.

We often use our tone to cover up our authentic feelings. The challenge in the video is about being true to ourselves, speaking our mind in the moment, and using honesty to build stronger relationships. Watch the video, take the challenge, and let me know what you think.

Procrastination creeps into a persons life in ways that make it a habit before being noticed. That makes it all the more difficult to combat so we can all more efficiently achieve higher levels of success.

Habit driven behaviors create habit driven results!

I had a recent run in with some artillery fungus and considered how it relates to smoothing over habits that may be detrimental to your overall success. We can always add a new layer of action on top, but if we don't solve the underlying issue the need to "do the work" will eventually arise.

Artillery fungus leaves small marks that become recognizable when there are a lot of them. But by then it's too late to easily get rid of them.

Our habits leave signs that are recognizable for their impact, but by then getting rid of the bad ones takes a lot of work.

We are all busy. Often with pretty serious things. Unfortunately, it eats up all our time and we forget to step back. While our lives are serious we shouldn't always take ourselves so seriously.

Excuses are bad, but incredibly powerful!

We often use excuses to get out of things we don't really want to do. We also use them to make ourselves feel better for having fallen short of a goal or not doing what we need to get there in the first place.

But what if we could use the power of excuses for good? What if we could use them to help us reach our goals instead of not succeeding?

We can if we just flip the excuse around! Next time you are going to make an excuse to get out of doing something you should so you can do something you want, reword your excuse and make it for the thing you want to do.

This is an old phrase, but still relevant every day.

How can we keep from not matching what we value with the time we spend doing it? I offer a strategy to find out what our actions say we value rather than what we say in the video.

Take the challenge by examining what you currently do and comparing it to how that shows what you value through action rather than speech. Then take the steps to align your actions and words.
