Matt and I have been on vacation for the last 2 weeks. We are rejuvenated and so grateful for our family and our beautiful earth. During our trip we had many beautiful & interesting experiences. Join me today as I share a few of these experiences which I will call vacation valuables!!

Matt and Sabrina met in high school. After Matt returned from his mission, they got married and started their life and family. May 2022, they planned a quick trip to Mexico with friends to have time away with their kids to relax and have fun. Matt realized that he had a gun in his truck that he hadn't taken out. While passing the Mexico border, he was taken into custody and sent to a Mexican prison. Sabrina worked hard to get help and answers on how to get Matt home. Going day to day holding on to any glimmer of light that they could they went forward with faith and trust in God. Join me today as Matt and Sabrina share their story.

Al Jorgensen was born on May 10, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He had two older sisters, and eventually two younger brothers. His neighborhood was full of friends and baseball games. When he was seven years old, his dad was called to be the bishop of their ward during World War II. Al was very aware of the war, and what was happening. He had a newspaper route as a teenager. In 1951 he graduated from high school and joined the Air Force ROTC. He attended the University of Utah, and then was called to serve a mission in Norway. He spent 2 1/2 years serving in Norway. When he returned home in 1956, he returned to the University of Utah, joined the Army Utah National Guard, married Elaine and started his life as a provider, father and husband. Coming off of General conference I enjoyed several talks. One that spoke to my heart was Elder Bednar's talk. Let Us All Press On in the work of the Lord was the song that he quoted. In this world today there is so much mocking, scoffing, pride, pointing & purporting the wisdom of the world. What can we each do to heed not the world? Tommy Scott desired and felt drawn toward God throughout his life. At the age of 16, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on June 17th, 2023. In the Fall at a high school football game Tommy started talking to a young woman who was a member of the church. He had questions about her church. She invited Tommy to come to church and learn more. Tommy accepted her invitation and showed up early on a Sunday morning eager to learn more and feel God's love. Join me today as Tommy shares his journey of being drawn towards God.

While driving Gannon to school recently, he read this quote to me from a talk by Ryan K Olsen, The Answer is Jesus, October 2022

“When we have questions or doubts, we may feel that the solutions are too complex or that finding answers is too confusing. May we remember that the adversary, even the father of all lies, is the architect of confusion. The Savior is the Master of simplicity.” That got me thinking about how much satan wants to complicate things and confuse us. The Savior is SIMPLE. He works through "small and simple" ways.
