Self Centered isn't selfish... it's essential.
We know what it's like feel burnt out, stuck, taken for granted, and like your life revolves around everyone but yourself. We were there once too and it wasn't until we learned and deliberately chose to trust ourselves, prioritize our needs, and set healthy boundaries that we were finally able to free ourselves from the people-pleasing hamster wheel that left us merely renting space in our own lives.
In this flagship episode, we set the foundation by sharing our personal and professional experiences that informed our decision to start "Self Centered with Katie and Allie". You'll learn the history of our relationships and growth journeys, both with each other and others, and how we freed ourselves of the toxic and abusive relationships that led us to self-abandonment.
Most importantly, we identify what it means to be "self-centered" and how doing so will allow you to live an authentic and aligned life that truly serves you. We also distinguish between being self-centered vs ego-centered as well as how to balance personal responsibility and over functioning. Finally, you'll be introduced to tools for being self centered, such as identifying your internal guidance system (IGS), finding clear mirrors, and staying in your chair.
IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN:
- Who are Katie and Allie
- Why did we start this podcast
- What does it mean to be "self-centered"
- Distinguishing self-centered from selfishness, narcissism, and ego-centered
- Understanding clear mirrors
- What does it look like to be self centered as a lifestyle of continued growth
We're excited to have you on this journey with us and we hope you'll join us each week as we explore being self centered.
