  • Running out of ideas is impossible
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=selfhelp4trolls/e010c06b
Whenever I jam like this I get ideas for new songs. The problem is never not enough ideas. It's too many and making sure I focus on the best ones.
One of the reasons I like making videos like this is it gives me a chance to document the better half of my playing.
Whenever I am toying around with new ideas I record it (at least after getting into the grove). If it isn't feeling that great I scrap it. If it is I turn it into something that makes it more memorable to me and in the process of editing I find parts I like.
If I had an audience I might do it all live but I am waiting til there is a real interest and I'd still like to improve a little bit first.
If you like what you hear please check out my music on streaming platforms, "I+Everything" and if it doesn't show up, add a "Sun Shone Blue" to find the old EP. A new live album will be up in a few days too!

  • Musc and Ocean. Inside and Outside (“To Know Where” music video)
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=selfhelp4trolls/44b414c0
The live footage we took during a show in September ended up much better than we planned. I decided to share the entire show, which in combination with another show which together will be cleaned up, remastered and turned into a live album hopefully within a month.
This song in particular I've been playing for almost 10 years and it was never uploaded anywhere, so I decided to give it a music video.

  • Lots of new music on the way 🔥
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=selfhelp4trolls/ac55803b
Every day has exciting updates that I wish I could share with everyone but I can't because I want you to hear the final recordings when it's ready.
I just heard the cleaned up and mastered version of a song from an upcoming live album entitled "Resonance Experiments 1-2".
The recordings come from a live series I started recently and without even realizing it we got so many good recordings from just two shows that I started thinking about releasing them as a live album.
Since they were still a tiny bit fuzzy I hired a friend to help clean them up and make them more listenable.
The live album will clock in over 40 minutes with only 6 tracks. Each track will be a journey in itself.
And because I can't share those recordings just yet, I can only share what I currently have ready to share.
Above is a bunch of clips from the music video for the song "Mirror" which you can find on streaming platforms if you search "Sun Shone Blue", the name of the EP.
And below is a short clip of one of the songs that will be on the live album!

  • My First Jam on Stage
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=selfhelp4trolls/f24ffe15
Edited a little clip from my very first jam on stage. I had jammed a few dozen times with friends back when I lived with other musicians, but doing it on stage is a totally different beast.
I don't know we managed to be so cinematic!
Right now I'm in the process of turning this show and another one into a live album so I have more of my work readily available to anyone who is curious.
The videos are already half up if you are prefer video to streaming platforms.
This is all leading up to the release of my first album which I hope to release this summer.
Here is a full performance if you are curious :

  • MUSIC AND OCEAN
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=selfhelp4trolls/ovtzborm
The last few months have seen me dedicated to a steady flow of music.
First I wrote two new songs, then adapted two old songs (including this one) to wlectric guitar.
Then I made a bunch of videos like this, Maybe 10-12. I uploaded the entirety of my concert last month as well.
Recently I have been working on the lyrics for two songs and I just booked a show for mid february that is a but bigger than what I am used to. There will be plenty of people I don't know there, and I am going all out with the experimentation.
this will be my first show on guitarlele, which is a mini guitar, plus effects. I'll sing nee song too.
If you want to see the full video as well as the rest of my last show, the link is here:
and check out my EP "Sun Shone Blue" on Spotify, Apple and most other streaming platforms!

  • Facing my fears
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=selfhelp4trolls/xommxaap
    text:
Every new year for the past 4 years I’ve set a tone, a theme, a certain idea to pursue, rather than some specific goal. I’ve found this fits my life way more than something more concrete that I am not enthusiastic about enough to do without setting it as a Resolution.
There is no pressure, just an overall orientation to start the year and to keep in mind throughout the year.
One year was "a balance between firm and flexible". Another year was "embracing anger without burning anyone". And last year was “Removing self imposed shackles and Remembering the magic of life”.
I think I did pretty well with this theme, I liberated myself from many things, namely I stopped feeling shame about various failures and stopped being afraid of integrating my different worlds into one. I wear play clothes to work now and I am not afraid to show my students my true self.
I even got some wild colorful clothing that at first made me nervous to wear and now makes me happy.
I told you my mid life crisis would be legendary and neverending.
I have a much more positive attitude than I did a year ago and playfulness definitely comes easier to me.
For 2026, the theme is “Stepping Out Into the Spotlight and Building Face to Face Community”.
I’ve alway run from attenion but this year I want to invite it in a way that feels comfortable and natural. Not seeking fame and noteriety but I am going to step out of my comfort zone where more people can see me, the real me, and pursue collaboration with the people I want to collaborate with, regardless of how big or small they are.
The rule of thumb is, if it’s exciting, don’t worry about the spotlight either way.

  • My first show in 2 years (I+Everything Live 2025) VIDEO
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=selfhelp4trolls/zpzzztcrbm
    I+Everything 2.0.
I’m finally approaching the sounds I’ve been pursuing all these years. I finally feel free to play with the moment and let the music decide for itself where it wants to go.
The show was 60-70% improvised. I played 4 old songs, 1 new song and more jams than I can count in between. I got lost in the effect settings a few times but I think it felt more amusing than awkward.
The next few months I hope to get more familiar with all these new tools, loop and multi effects and delay and reverb, so that next time I feel much more able to conduct them as if they were an orchestra.
Thank you Mogu Mogu , thank you Youji-san and thank you to everyone who came out and to everyone who tried to make it but couldn’t ❤️
    More show announcements soon!

  • Jamming Alone
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=selfhelp4trolls/plnxgwhgdy
It’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve started playing electric guitar regularly. After years of playing what I was comfortable with, pretty simple meditative acoustic songs, I wanted a change.
Actually this is something I’ve been thinking about for years, but because I didn’t have a comfortable space to play, nor the money for the equipment, I kept putting it off.
In the end I slowly gathered the parts needed, an amp, a cheap new guitar, reverb, delay, and drive pedals and music took over my living room.
My room’s always a mess now, but at least I have music.
Well I could easily just stick to the songs and style that I’m used to, I’m taking this as a chance to level up, and so I’m filling in all the gaps with regards to my weak points.
I’ve never practiced with a metronome before so that’s new, and it’s helpful since delay in the loop can confuse things a little bit. I never really did drills to work on my finger speed, and so that’s new to.
I do know basic scales, But I usually stick to the simpler shapes and can’t always play what’s in my mind easily, so I’ve been practicing those too.
The goal here was to play steady simple bass part and be able to jam between that. i’ll be working on this roof for a while until I can play more complicated licks in between the base notes.
If you’re interested and want to hear some of my old songs, I just released five as an EP. It’s up on Spotify, Apple, YouTube and just about everywhere else, search for “Sun Shone Blue” by I+Everything.
And go subscribe to my YouTube channel if you can. I regularly put up short music videos, and occasionally long ones too. Here’s one of them:
