Currently working on my second music video, but I'd like to upload this first attempt onto 3speak/Hive because Hive is home.

I started writing this song while living in Tokyo in 2011, just before heading out to drift around, backpacking, busking, and getting pulled into random adventures.

The lyrics were written on a 40 hour train ride, right before I quit my job and decided to live in the flow.

The song slowly took form over the course of the next few years, living between the mountains and the ocean, jamming with friends nearly every day.

The song was recorded in 2019 when I moved back to Japan. I had no idea how to record music so I taught myself and then a lot happened to prevent a re-recording until finally I decided to share the song as it is.

The video was shot in the countryside on the outskirts of Tokyo much more recently. I have only been learning to edit videos for the past few months but I tried to make the best thing I could with limited resources.

I guess this is my first “official music video”

Going to start making some videos about games and this was just a brainstorming about what that’s going to look like.

I decided to finally push myself to make a somewhat well edited video, making the best thing I could with the equipment and resources I have at the moment.

What better topic than Hive. This video (as I mentioned in a post describing the process of making it) started as a steam of consciousness but since I thought it was a great story to attract new users I decided to put some extra effort into it and see how well I could do.

If you also think it’s a good advertisement for Hive, please send the YouTube version to your friends, that way the algorithm will send it to more people and it has a greater chance of bringing more people to Hive. I mention 3speak in it as a YouTube alternative, so I would love if it could bring some people over!

It's been a real long time since I made a city vlog like this. Been focused too much on turning all our two way conversations into audio podcasts.

I'll keep making these but at a much slower place. Maybe once a month while I put up the conversations up on spotify and other platforms about once a week.
