Hi, I’m Gina Leggio. Having been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 20 years, I’ve observed how the mental health field has emphasized self-esteem. I’ve also noticed how this can be counterproductive because it involves self-evaluation, which causes insecurity, anxiety, and more.
I define Selfless Esteem as freedom from self-consciousness by focusing on our Creator, who is “the Beginning and the End” (Revelation 1:8). The result is joy and peace.

Dear Selfless Esteem, My husband and I have been together now for over 20 years – whilst we get along and are good friends, I feel we simply don't make time for each other anymore. I can see us getting to the stage when the kids flee the nest, we'll end up divorced like so many other couples. I guess my question is: how to bring the fire back into our relationship? Thanks! Signed, Disgruntled Wife
