With a solid weekend of negotiation behind them, the lads are expecting some deals to get done today that will help push other potential deals into a better position. Away from the AFL, Antonio Brown made the “Oh Boy” files again, and there was a serious chat about an NRL player who has discovered his brain has shrunk after suffering over 100 concussions during his career. Two years ago, Jordan Buckingham was a 20-year-old who was struggling to get a first-grade game in Victoria and was starting out an apprenticeship as a curator. The Redbacks liked what they saw and came calling with a rookie contract. Buckingham made his Sheffield Shield debut in the last game of last summer against NSW and played game number two against his former state recently at Karen Rolton Oval, taking seven wickets in the match.
