We're coming back!
You thought you were done with us, didn't you? ADMIT IT!
To be fair, we did say that we would come back if we could, although none of us expected it to be this soon.
We don't have a set date, it won't be on any sort of regular schedule, and there are going to be some changes to the format, BUT there will be good and terrible movies, lots of arguing between us four, and plenty of pitching ideas for sequels. Which you'd hope there would be, as we're not changing the name.
If you've stayed subscribed and have come across this in your feed then thank you so much for sticking with us. If you're a new listener that's just seen that we ended the show and have been immediately thrown back into it, we hope you enjoyed that tiny moment of confusion.
SO EXCITED!

Hi everyone!
We have an announcement to make - our live show in London on November 6th is going to be the final episode of Sequel Pitch.
It's a decision that we've made for all of our mental well-beings; we have so much fun recording the show, but finding the time to watch the movies, come up with the pitches, record, edit etc, when we've all got varying amounts of pressure around jobs, children and mental health issues to deal with, we all want to put the show to bed while we're still enjoying it.
This podcast is something we're all extremely proud of. We love the idea, we've built a load of fantastic friendships in the movie critic and podcasting industries, let alone how much it's strengthened our own, we've had some dream guests we wouldn't have expected in our wildest dreams, AND we've had the immense privilege of knowing (because people have told us this, honest!) That we've made something that brings them joy.
So if you've listened to us, told someone else to, supported us, or frankly just tolerated us, we are incredibly grateful. Thank you so much.
And you never know, this might not be the end! There might be a film that we just can't bear not to do an episode on, or we might open the feed up for other people to come on and take it over. We might all just restart it ourselves in a year or two when we're not having such a rough time existing as elder millennials under late stage capitalism and a tory government! So if our RSS feed or format are of interest to you, get in touch, we'll be hanging on to our socials :)
So that's us - if you can make it to London on the 6th we are hoping that it can be a big lovely send of, and celebration of the friends we've made along the way.
Take care of yourselves, we love you

The meeting of minds is back for the second to last time! This week, Ross is hosting for one of his all time favourite movies, having the gang review and pitch sequels for the 1991 family action comedy Suburban Commando, directed by Burt Kennedy and starring Hulk Hogan and utterly inexplicably Christopher Lloyd and Shelley Duvall.
Expect the usual hijinks as we tear apart this abjectly terrible movie, and dance around whether we should discuss Hulk Hogan's many, many crimes... other than this movie, that is.

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Matt is hosting, while the gang review and pitch sequels for the 2011 action sci-fi... thriller? In Time, directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Amanda Seyfried, Justin Timberlake, Alex Pettyfer and man of the moment over the summer, Cillian Murphy.
Expect A LOT of discussion about how this economy does or doesn't function, and how inscrutable it and probably our real life global economic structure makes no sense and can be gamed by rich people, and just how far we'll go in our pitches to try to make sense of the whole damn thing

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Andy is hosting, while the gang review and pitch sequels for the 2014 throwback action thriller The Expendables 3, directed by Patrick Hughes and starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Kelsey Grammer, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz, Robert Davi, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Expect guns, in both their firearm and bicep forms. Explosions, in some practical but mostly CGI form. Bafflement! Over the top EVERYTHING. MOTORBIKES! BOOM! LOUD NOISE! No BLOOD!

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Drew is hosting, and as a certain Cillian Murphy is pretty hot stuff this summer (get it, hot, like a nuclear bomb. Get it? GET IT?), the gang are reviewing and pitching sequels for the 2007 post-apocalyptic horror sequel to one of the greatest horror movies EVER, 28 Weeks Later, directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and starring Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, Harold Perrineau, Catherine McCormack, Mackintosh Muggleton, Imogen Poots & Idris Elba.
Expect ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, BLOOD, CILLIAN MURPHY, CURES, FACTIONS. IT'S RAGE MADNESS

Join us for a fascinating deeper discussion about the epic but deeply problematic Gone with the Wind. Many thanks to Mikey Neumann for putting us up to doing this one

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Ross is hosting after last week's guest, Film Joy's Mikey Neumann, set us the unenviable but hilariously cruel challenge of pitching sequels to Gone with the Wind, the sweeping and undeniably problematic in a modern context 1939 epic romance starring Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard, and Olivia de Havilland.
Expect s lot of discussion about the terrible oppression of black people under the confederacy, so much bafflement about how the characters realising slavery was wrong not being part of this story, and a lot of discussion about the ethics of viewing films like this one in a modern context. It was a really... energetic but fascinating discussion to have
