Sequencing the Human Genome: Eukaryotes with J. Craig Venter

J. Craig Venter is one of the most influential figures in genetic research. As a genetic scientist, Venter pioneered the use of the automated gene sequencer and in 1990 developed a new strategy for gene discovery and tagging that revolutionized the biological sciences. His vision, determination, and competitive spirit greatly accelerated the mapping of the human genome.
