As an entrepreneur everyone wants to espouse the importance of balance. But is achieving balance even obtainable?
From claims to a 4 hour work week to "I make 6 figures and only work 20 years a week," there is a lot in the online coaching industry sold as achievable and possible, but we want to challenge that idea.
Can you work only 20 hours and make 6 figures - maybe? On year 7 or with a team of people working for you....but right out of the gate - yeah - probably not.
Setting realistic expectations about your business and your priorities is essential about how you feel balanced in you life and your business. In this episode we dive into those ideas.

Wendy is back this week in Kentucky enjoying her second round of the Bourbon Burn. While we are on a brief hiatus enjoy this throwback from last fall where she shares her insights and lessons learned from last years Bourbon Burn Bike Ride
Hey there! It's Wendy Guth, and I'm so excited to share this episode of the Purposeful Podcasting with you. In this episode, my co-host Krystal Eicher and I dive deep into the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone for personal and professional growth.,We kick things off by discussing my experience at the Bourbon Country Burn biking event in Lexington, Kentucky. Even though I don't drink bourbon, participating in this event was a bucket list experience for me. And let me tell you, the epiphanies I had were incredible. I realized that trying new things and exploring unfamiliar environments can be incredibly freeing and help you understand your own comfort zone better. It's like a breath of fresh air for your mind!
Another eye-opening moment I had was about judgment and comparison. While biking, I encountered some avid cyclists who looked down on me for not using a traditional bike. At first, I felt the need to justify myself, but then I realized that seeking validation from others is unnecessary. This realization extends to our entrepreneurial journeys too. As entrepreneurs, we need to focus on our own goals and not constantly compare ourselves to others.
Krystal and I also talk about the value of being a lifestyle entrepreneur, where your business and personal life intertwine. We share how we've created a business that not only provides flexibility and freedom but also financially supports our desired lifestyle. It's all about designing a business that aligns with your goals and aspirations.,So, if you're ready to embrace new challenges, break free from judgment, and live unapologetically according to your own dreams and goals, this episode is for you. Join us as we share our experiences and reflections from the Bourbon Country Burn, and discover the keys to personal and professional growth.
Stepping out of your comfort zone is a precursor for pivoting and understanding your true potential. - Wendy Guth
As entrepreneurs, we spend so much time looking at what other people do and think that we're not focusing on what we need to do. You do you and focus on achieving your own goals. - Krystal Eicher
Design a business that funds and fuels the experiences and adventures you want to have in life. - Wendy Guth

It began as a simple girls' night out, an escape from the grind of our own masterminding. We decided to take a break, to press pause on our hectic lives, and indulge in some light-hearted cinematic entertainment - the Barbie movie. At the surface, it was a fun, animated flick, but beneath that, it echoed the struggles we were grappling with daily. It was as though Barbie was mirroring our lives, dealing with midlife crisis, societal pressures, perfectionism, and the delicate balancing act of motherhood and entrepreneurship. The movie showcased Barbie, an epitome of perfection, battling her own insecurities and fears, a midlife crisis that shook her to her core. It was a stark reminder that even the most seemingly perfect individuals had their own battles to fight. As mother-entrepreneurs, the struggles Barbie faced were all too familiar. We left the cinema not just entertained, but empowered, ready to embrace our imperfections, and to once again, dream big.
Timestamped summary of this episode:
00:00:00 - The Importance of Dreaming Big,
Female entrepreneurs sometimes lose sight of their ability to dream and be creative due to societal expectations. It's important for women to break free from these constraints and continue dreaming big throughout their lives.
00:03:20 - Finding Levity and Joy in Life,
Taking time for rest, joy, and fun is essential for maintaining creativity and motivation as an entrepreneur. The Barbie movie provided a much-needed break during a Masterminding session and reminded the hosts of the importance of infusing their lives with levity.
00:06:06 - Barbie's Midlife Crisis,
The Barbie movie explores the concept of midlife crisis and the unraveling that comes with it. It highlights the pressure women face to live up to unrealistic expectations and the need to shed their armor and embrace their true selves.
00:10:00 - The Balancing Act of Motherhood and Entrepreneurship,
The movie's quote about mothers standing still so their daughters can see how far they've come resonates with working moms. It delves into the challenges of balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship while still aspiring to be role models for their children.
00:13:27 - Advocating for Beliefs and Prioritizing,
The hosts discuss the importance of advocating for their beliefs and embracing their multiple roles as entrepreneurs and mothers. They highlight the ability to micro-prioritize and navigate the challenges of being present in different areas of life.
00:17:20 - Stepping out of the Comfort Zone,
The hosts discuss the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones to share our messages and achieve our goals. They also touch on the conflicting expectations society places on women's appearance and the internal struggle it creates.
00:18:59 - Dreaming and Aspiring,
The hosts encourage listeners to dream big and pursue their aspirations, whether it's becoming the president or an Olympic athlete. They emphasize that it's never too late to explore new opportunities and define what we want in life.
00:20:29 - The Power of Self-Knowledge,
They discuss the importance of self-awareness and understanding who we are before we can effectively interact with others and seize opportunities. They also highlight the wide range of entrepreneurial possibilities available to women in different stages of life.
00:21:46 - Savoring Your Life,
The hosts introduce the concept of savoring life and how it became integral to their work. They discuss stepping out of comfort zones, aligning passions, owning connections, practicing self-care, and ritualizing gratitude and celebration as essential aspects of savoring life.
00:24:01 - Embracing Change,
They reflect on the fear and discomfort that comes with making life changes, but emphasize the importance of leaning into the unknown and forging forward. They encourage listeners to have confidence in themselves and take the necessary steps to create a fulfilling life.
Exploring the Relevance of Change
Changes are an integral part of life and often act as catalysts for growth and new possibilities. By embracing change, we allow ourselves to step out of our comfort zones and enhance our personal and professional lives. However, navigating change can be a daunting task, especially when it challenges established societal norms and personal expectations.
Understanding Balancing Societal Norms
The pressure to conform to societal norms can be immense, particularly for women who juggle multiple roles as entrepreneurs and mothers. While it's crucial to acknowledge these norms, it's equally important to strike a balance that ensures authentic self-expression. Thus, understanding and negotiating societal expectations can pave the way towards self-actualization and fulfillment.

We need ROUTINES.
Basically to be better humans, but also because they just make life easier.
Now before you hit the snooze button – here’s the kicker.
We’re both schedule-haters.
The conformity.
The rigidness.
The rules.
But….
A little routines that give boundaries to the chaos – why, we found they bring freedom and structure we didn’t fully realize until now.
In this episode of Purposeful Podcasting, Krystal Eicher and Wendy Guth discuss the importance of establishing habits and routines for stability and productivity in life and business. They both admit to feeling discombobulated and out of balance during the summer months when their children's schedules become unpredictable. However, they recognize the need for routines to bring back structure and focus. Krystal and Wendy highlight the power of routines in reducing decision fatigue and freeing up mental energy for more important tasks. They share their own routines, such as exercising in the morning and engaging in a daily Voxer conversation, as examples of how habits can provide clarity and focus in the day.
The hosts emphasize that routines don't have to be overly rigid or time-blocked, but rather a predictable order of actions that set the right mindset and allow for creativity and productivity. They discuss the idea that habits define who we are and shape the person we become. Krystal and Wendy also delve into the importance of intentional habits and routines that align with personal goals and values. They encourage listeners to find a routine that works for them, even if it means stepping out of their comfort zone.,The hosts share their own routines, such as recording podcasts on Wednesdays and meeting with clients on Thursdays, as examples of how routines can provide a sense of freedom and clarity. They also discuss the Pomodoro method, a helpful productivity tool within a routine. By establishing habits and routines, individuals can reduce decision fatigue, free up mental energy, and create a sense of clarity and focus. Krystal and Wendy encourage listeners to be intentional about their routines and to find ones that work for their personal and professional lives. Routines are not about being overly scheduled or restrictive, but rather about providing stability and productivity in a world that can often feel chaotic. This episode offers valuable insights and practical tips for busy professionals seeking to bring stability and productivity to their lives.
