Today we move on to the Book of Joshua! In the first eight chapters of this amazing record we find that a new man is leading the nation of Israel: Joshua. He was Moses' assistant for many years, but now that Moses is gone, he must take the lead. And he learns, and we learn, that what you cannot righteously run away from, will define who you are.

Proverbs 4:20-23

My child, pay attention... guard your heart above all else for it determines the course of your life.

Your heart is your connection to God, your father. Our hearts are our moral connection . You have to be proactive in guarding your heart or it won't work. Spirtitually guard your heart. Becoming wiser in our lives doesn't mean being isolated or not being hurt. Don't follow your heart, inform your heart.

Today we continue on in our study of the Old Testament, this week covering the entire book of Deuteronomy! As we've discovered in previous weeks, there are overall themes in these large books and today is no exception. Deuteronomy is all about large life transitions. We all go through them, but we don't all go through them smoothly. Today we find the keys to a successful transition, no matter where or when it occurs in life.

We're pressing on in our study of the Old Testament and this week's message is the Book of Numbers. Yes, the whole book! Actually we're discovering Numbers' powerful theme and understanding that God is so gracious in His dealings with mankind at every stage of history. And the references to the Lord Jesus; they're everywhere in this book!
