In our natures, we want justice for ourselves and for others – yet we fail to obtain it over and over. There seems to be nothing we can do to establish justice and peace. So our God brings us this justice through the Messiah.

God has not been slow to fulfill His promise, but patient toward us- not wanting any to perish. So He promised and revealed His plan to us of this Messiah's birth- this child that would change everything!

As Peter closes his letter he reminds the leaders of the church to pastor and oversee – to protect the church from Satan and his schemes – and to be examples to the flock that they belong to.

The Four Gifts of Suffering

Peter tells us to lay down the worthless weapons of this world and instead pick up weapons that actually work. The weapons we use is the same way of thinking about our circumstances the way Jesus did!

We are called to bless in the midst of our suffering. Peter encourages us to suffer well and to be reminded of the truths of the Gospel as we daily reflect God’s light in a dark world.

Peter declares that the Christian objective in this world should not be our own comfort, but in our opportunity to suffer injustice through submission. To lay aside our pride and our perceived rights and instead present our lives as living sacrifices for the glory of God
