Sermons from The Crossing Church (TCCJAX) Jacksonville, FL

The unity of the church is hard to see. In fact, it’s probably one of the most divided organizations in existence. Yet Jesus declares that it is through our unity that the world will believe in Him. Unity is not some nicety in the Christian life

Jesus says that we shouldn’t worry, but is this actually possible? Did he really mean that or was he just exaggerating? Jesus was serious

Have you ever felt inadequate or not good enough? Have you ever looked at other people and felt like they had it all together while you were a wreck? Life can seem very superficial, but God calls us to something deeper. God wants us to "be perfected" by HIM. Rather than having all the right answers and all the right behaviors God is most interested in your heart. God doesn't call you to be morally perfect but to become the perfect creation he is creating you to be.

This expression is used so frequently and few would disagree with it. But when Jesus declares this, he explains what this “love” really is and who our “enemies” actually are. What we find is that this is impossible without the Holy Spirit and it’s purpose is not world peace

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not simply an historical fact. His resurrection isn’t some abstract religious tradition, some debatable belief

It is easy for us to think that we are self-sufficient and relatively descent people. God shows us in these last chapters how much grace He bestows on us and how desperately we need Him. Doing what is right in our own eyes is a dangerous place to live, but God rescues us through His Son Jesus Christ and gives us His Holy Spirit to see the world through His eyes!

We live in a day when everyone does what is right in their own eyes. You do you. In the time of the Judges that phrase will inspire many and lead to the downfall of an entire nation. We are called to live lives of purpose, to follow Jesus to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of God...to worship Him alone. Yet, we often find ourselves creating our own mini-religions worshipping ourselves instead of the God that created us.

We are proud people; we think we can control our sin

We Are Called to a Life of Sacrifice. We Don’t Know What God Will Ask of Us and Honestly We Hope It’s Not Too Much. Jephthah Too Hoped it Wasn’t Too Much
