As followers of Jesus we aren’t of this world. The world would have us believe that violence is the answer, but Jesus showed us the way of peace. The world would have us believe that to go along to get along and not make waves is the polite thing to do, but Jesus came to show us that we must be disruptive when we see injustice.

Keep pushing. Keep trying to love like Jesus, and maybe we’ll get just a little glimpse of what it means to leave that way.

And if we keep doing what Jesus did, if we keep doing what God and mercy and compassion compel us to do, if we keep reaching out with mercy, and if we offer forgiveness to those that offend us, if we keep asking well placed questions that break down the foundation of the systems of exclusion and separation, then the world will be changed.
