Throughout history there have been stories after stories of people who have tried to play god or act like they know better than God. We live in a world bent toward its own will and desires. When we look at the world around us it's easy to think things couldn't get any worse. But in the days of Noah it says that every intention of every heart was always evil. The story of beginnings continues with the beginning of physical death. This was an awful experience because in it we find one brother killing another out of feelings of injustice. Then parents lose both of their children because of this terrible event. We'll talk about real life issues like injustice and anger and how doing wrong never fixes injustice.

In the story of the Fall in Genesis 3, we see the origin of all things bad. The fall was the time when man fell from his position of perfection. By a personal choice to move away from God we find ourselves lost and alone. Adam and Eve listened to their worldly passions and followed where God commanded them not to go. The message of the serpent was too alluring for them. They gave in to this temptation. Listen to see the ramifications of this temptation on you and me today.

The story of creation is the starting point for you and for me. Everything we see around us is a result of this one event in time. Journey with us through the book of Genesis as we encounter the God who established our days and our moments. Pastor Derrick will help us dive into a realization that creation, while given order by God tries to constantly lose its order.

This week we spend time with Paul walking around the city of Athens. While in Athens, we stop at a location where many thousands of altars have been built to a variety of deities. This week we do a little God math. There are three types of math that God does and one that is left only to Satan. This week we dive into Acts 6 and see how Satan tries to disrupt the life of the church with a form of math.

As we journey past Easter to a new reality in our world, we must ask ourselves how Easter has changed things for us. What are you learning from your current situation? How has God been shaping you through our current world crisis? How has God's word empowered you to live the life you have in front of you?

This Easter we celebrated the reality that Jesus' resurrection has implications for every person who will ever live on this earth. The resurrection impacted men, women, and all of creation. Today as the church meets in a variety of ways and in a variety of locations we've been given the opportunity to bring the love of Jesus to the world in so many creative ways! Jesus is for everyone and we as the church are given the task of bringing the gospel to the world.

As we move through Holy Week, it's easy to miss the reason we're here. It's easy to let the challenges of this current time distract us from why we gather and who we are in Christ. This Maundy Thursday Pastor Derrick reminds us that in Christ we are the body of Christ. Nothing can change who we are in Christ. No one can keep the church from being the church no matter where we are.
