There is nothing that can stand against the establishment of the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is David’s greater son; He is the one who reigns forever and ever.

The greatest aid that we can have for trusting the Lord is to recount what the Lord has already done for us. The history of God’s faithfulness in His promises assures us that He will keep His Word.

After God had given David and Israel rest from all their enemies, David purposed in his heart to bless God by building Him a “house” so He would not have to “dwell in a tent.”

We cannot presume that God is like us, nor can we treat Him casually. At the same time, our response should not be to keep God at a distance. The Lord is the source of life and blessing for His people.
