Divine Providence is the good hand of God in the lives of His people, as we see in this Sunday's sermon from Ezra 7. This is Part 1 of Pastor Ron's sermon on this chapter.

God’s aim for our joy in Him and His sovereignty is the means for us to know the joy of His provision, His providence, of praising Him, and of purity and obedience to Him.

The work on rebuilding the temple has ceased for 17 years. The people of God are discouraged. Through the prophetic ministry of Haggai and Zechariah, the Lord strengthened Zerubbabel and Jeshua to lead the returning exiles in rebuilding the temple.

Spiritual setbacks are an opportunity to worship God alone, and though the enemy of our souls, Satan, is relentless in his pursuits, God's plans will not ultimately fail.

In his sermon from Ezra 3, Pastor Ron preaches on how the rebuilt altar pointed to the Cross of Christ. The rebuilt altar represented a new beginning of the worship of God by the returning exiles. The Cross of Christ is where we begin/renew our worship of God. The altar was central to Israel. The Cross is central to us.
