On the road to Emmaus, Jesus comes alongside two disheartened and disillusioned disciples, opening their eyes of faith to see him in Scripture and the broken bread. Jesus comes alongside us on the road of life to open our eyes of faith as well.

In the living hope through Jesus' resurrection, you are guarded by God through faith

Easter celebrates that the seal over Jesus' tomb has been broken, and through his death and resurrection we have been restored to a right relationship to God our Father.

In the Lord's Supper, we have a restored fellowship with God through Christ Jesus

We put a broken majesty on Jesus, seeing him as the king we want him to be and not the King he came to be

When a loved one dies, hearts are broken. Mary and Martha's hearts were broken when their brother, Lazarus, died, but the Lord Jesus also grieved the death of his friend. The same Jesus who wept at his friend's death is the One who triumphed over death and the grave. In raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus reveaks that He is Lord of all things - even death itself.

Jesus, true God and true man, went to the cross so that you need not thirst for God

Through Jesus, the light of the world, we see God and His love

Jesus was forsaken and abandoned on the cross by his Father so that we would never be abandoned or forsaken.

Jesus offers the Samaritan woman at the well living water - that which truly satisfies our deepest thirst and need. Jesus offers this same gift to us today, and he himself is that Living Water.
