Daniel prays that God would be faithful to his covenant promises to Israel by forgiving their sin and bringing them back from exile. God answers this prayer by promising return from exile and pointing ahead to Jesus who would provide ultimate deliverance.

Daniel teaches us to pray that God would be glorified through His merciful act of forgiving sinners like us.
