Prayer allows us to take part in what is eternally important

The Renewal of all things is God's work.

Jesus came to earth to put God’s holiness on display. For those with eyes to see, this changes everything.

Jesus, the God-Man, calls us to true faith, which is believing that He is who He says He is and following Him unwaveringly.

Jesus came and died on the cross to bring glory to the Father. Therefore, all of His redeemed should live for His glory and not our own.

Just as Jesus laid down his life for us, He calls His people to follow in His footsteps and die to our selfish desires and faithfully serve Him in all we do.

Thanksgiving: worshipping God through Gratitude

As the Jewish leaders plan the death of Christ, John the apostle drives home the reality that Jesus’ death on the cross would be a substitutionary death, where he would take the place of those who trust in him.

The resurrection of Lazarus demonstrates Jesus’ power over death. He is the “resurrection and the life” and this truth should bolster our confidence that all who have trusted in Christ will be raised to a glorious eternity with God.

The mission of the church (that which we’re sent into the world to do) is to glorify God by going and proclaiming the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all the nations and planting new churches, so unbelievers from every tribe, nation and tongue might hear the good news, respond by grace in faith, be gathered into the church, discipled in all of Christ’s teachings, and worship God for all eternity.
