Jesus prays that all who come to faith through the apostolic gospel would be perfected in unity and would persevere to the end where they will forever behold Him in His eternal glory.

Jesus promises His followers peace in the midst of persecution and a joy no one can take away. Since these promises are grounded in His death and resurrection, we should seek our joy in who He is, what He’s done, and what He’s promised.

The death and resurrection of Christ is the center of the Christian faith. Because we know Jesus was raised from the dead, we can be absolutely certain that we too will be raised and should live each day in light of this glorious reality.

The Holy Spirit helps us on our mission as He goes about the work of convicting the “world” of sin, righteousness, and judgment

Christians have been chosen out of the world to bear witness about Jesus to a world in opposition to Him. Christians should, therefore, not be surprised in the face opposition and must be willing to endure being disliked, hated, and even persecuted for the cause of Christ.
