"What About My Doubts?"

The fact is that Christians are susceptible to doubt for a variety of reasons.

1. One of the most common reasons is personal experience. When we face difficult situations, such as illness, financial troubles, or relationship problems, we may question God’s goodness and wonder why he allows these things to happen.
2. Another reason Christians may doubt is due to intellectual challenges. Sometimes, we may encounter ideas or arguments that challenge our beliefs or raise questions we can’t immediately answer. This can cause us to doubt whether our faith is indeed based on truth.
3. Additionally, Christians can be susceptible to doubt due to the influence of others. We may question whether we are on the right path if surrounded by people who do not share our faith or criticize our beliefs.
4. Christians may also experience doubt due to spiritual struggles. We may feel distant from God, struggle with sin, or have unanswered prayers, leading us to question whether God is truly present.

Doubt can be overcome by seeking and experiencing the risen Christ: When Thomas expressed his doubts, Jesus did not scold or shame him but instead appeared to him and invited him to touch his wounds.

In the same way, we can overcome doubt by seeking to encounter the risen Christ through prayer, scripture, worship, and fellowship with other believers. As we experience the reality of Jesus’ resurrection, our doubts can be replaced with a deep and abiding faith.

Just think of how blessed we are! We didn’t awaken this morning with a cloud of uncertainty hanging over our heads.

We awoke to the certainty of an empty tomb!

Even knowing how it all turns out on Easter morning. . . this morning. . .we still grieved and mourned the last two days over the fact that Jesus had to die. . . that He came to die. . . that He had died for me and for you.

But now. . .

The glorious news of the empty tomb once again changes all of that. . . our night turned into day! I am glad that Jesus followed His Father’s plan all the way to the cross!

Let’s continually rejoice over our salvation. . . to be thankful for its provision.

In our text for this message. . . Ephesians 5:8-14. . . the apostle Paul instructs the believers in Ephesus to live as children of light, reflecting the truth and righteousness of Christ. The passage presents a powerful image of the contrast between light and darkness and encourages us to live a life that honors God and shines brightly in the world.

The message of this passage is just as relevant for us today as it was for the believers in Ephesus. We live in a world filled with darkness, where sin and immorality are rampant, and where it can be easy to become desensitized to the evil around us.

Yet, as children of light, we are called to be different, to live in a way that reflects the love and truth of Christ, and to shine brightly in the darkness.

In this message, we will explore what it means to walk in the light of Christ and how we can live intentionally as children of light in a world that desperately needs to see the hope and love of Christ.

We will examine the transformation of believers, the exposure of sin, and the call to wake up and live with intentionality. As we investigate this passage, may the Holy Spirit guide and transform us so that we may be true children of light, shining brightly in the darkness.

This message began with the question. . .

What thoughts come to mind when I declare the following. . . Jesus is going to return!

What should you be thinking about? When faced with the statement "Jesus is going to return," Christians should feel a sense of hope and excitement. They should be reminded of the promise of eternal life and the victory of God’s kingdom over the forces of darkness.

As Christians, we believe that one day Jesus will return to this world in glory and power. This is not just a mere wishful thinking or a fanciful idea, but a certain hope that is rooted in the promises of God. While we do not know the exact time or date of his return, we are called to live in anticipation and expectation of this great event.

As we continue to reflect on its message and apply it to our lives, may we be inspired to live out our faith with boldness and confidence, knowing that our hope is in the eternal kingdom of God.

Daniel 7 unveils God’s sovereignty over the kingdoms of the world, the coming of the Son of Man, and the ultimate triumph of God’s kingdom.

The sovereignty of God is a central doctrine in Christian theology that refers to God’s absolute and ultimate authority and control over all things. It means that God is the supreme ruler of the universe, and that he has the power and authority to do whatever he wills.

In practical terms, the sovereignty of God means that God is in control of everything, including the natural world, human history, and individual lives. It means that nothing happens without God’s permission or oversight, and that everything that happens is ultimately part of his plan and purpose.

The sovereignty of God also means that God’s will and purposes are ultimately unstoppable and cannot be thwarted by human beings or any other force. It means that God is always working to bring about his will, even in the midst of difficult or challenging circumstances.

"The Handwriting On The Wall!"

The key thought within the text for this message is. . .

The Handwriting on the Wall!

This phrase has come to be used as a metaphor for an unmistakable sign or warning of impending doom or disaster. It is often used to refer to a situation in which the outcome is clear and inevitable, despite attempts to ignore or deny it.

The phrase "handwriting on the wall" originates from the book of Daniel. . . in the Old Testament of the Bible. In the biblical text for this message, King Belshazzar of Babylon throws a great feast, during which a mysterious hand appears and writes the words "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin" on the wall of the banquet hall.

The king is frightened by the strange occurrence and calls for his wise men to interpret the words, but they cannot.

Daniel, a Jewish captive and advisor to the king, is then summoned and is able to interpret the words as a message from God predicting the end of the Babylonian kingdom and the rise of the Medes and Persians.

Many times, as we can now look back and review history, there were signs of impending doom or disaster within nations. The problem is that cultures and societies often don’t see the signs until it is too late.

"God Is Still Greater!"

Our current culture and society believe that man is the epitome of all things. . . that he/she is the center of their own universe. A careful examination of man’s actions and beliefs within culture and society demonstrates this.

Why is it that we are so determined to be the center of our own little universe?

I believe it is so that we can feel that we are in complete control. We want to be the masters of our own fate.

People have often believed throughout history that they are the center of the universe.

Is that true? Of course not. . . but you would be hard-pressed to find very few people today who would disagree. Much of the world has bought into the tenet of Secular Humanism, which believes that they are little gods unto themselves. . . that within them exists all that they need to live out their lives successfully. 

They believe they have no need of anyone or anything outside of themselves. . . they intentionally live without God.

Nebuchadnezzar wrongly believed that he was in control and that all things revolved around him. He can’t fathom how wrong he is and the consequences of his beliefs!
