In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, Pastor Swanson shares an inspirational Sunday message titled,

Foolishness or Ultimate Truth?

Pastor Swanson begins his message with the following question. . .

Isn’t it interesting that one person can consider something the most important fact or thing in the world while another believes it to be complete foolishness. . . complete nonsense?

Men and women today have bought into the age-old philosophy of what we now call secular humanism which believes that the principles suitable for orienting a complete human life are present within each of us. . . that we have no need of an outside force or guidance.

It believes that human beings are little gods unto themselves.

Culture and society pursue such a position even though every human being knows deep within their soul that secular humanism. . . not the Christian faith. . . is what is complete foolishness.

1. The fact that God would send His Son down to earth and that He would go willingly to the Cross does sound foolish.
2. The fact that God would send His Son. . . the one who created the heavens and earth. . . to this world and allow His own Creation to nail Him to a cross is just illogical.
3. The fact that God would send His only Son to die for a people who created their own problem boggles our minds.

But the amazing thing is this. . . that is exactly what God did!

The world can’t understand how otherwise normal-looking people can be so in love with someone who lived 2,000 years ago.

Who is the someone in this statement? It is. . . of course. . . Jesus Christ.

To the unbeliever, Christianity does not seem reasonable.

When a believer talks of how Jesus is their life. . . or how He is their everything. . . or how He is the ultimate love of their life. . . the unbeliever thinks they have lost their mind.

Their first thought is. . .

Who in their right mind would give up control of their own lives. . . especially to one who has been gone for 2,000 years?

However, the question becomes. . .

Is Jesus the ultimate love of your life?
