There is a great deal of turmoil everywhere we look.

As a result, there is a great deal of tragedy occurring in the lives of many people. . . devastating misfortunes that are taking place.

Have you ever wondered how you would handle. . . what you would do. . . if a great tragedy or trial occurred in your life?

Since such tragedies are the case in this world, we need to look for a source of strength that is outside this world. . . outside of what those around us and the world might provide.

But, what is this strength that is available from outside of this physical realm?

Psalm 46, which we considered in this message, began with the words. . .God is our refuge and strength.

That is our true source of strength!

What's The Big Deal About Easter?

Every holiday or special date that we celebrate in culture and society has a point of origin.

Now, sometimes it is based on a very definitive event. . . such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence. . . while at other times, its origin is a little fuzzy or vague such as for Valentine’s Day.

The event that we prepare for during this season of Lent is not based on fuzzy or vague facts but on the most well-attested event in human history.

What is that event?

It is based on the empty tomb of that morning so long ago. It is based on Easter.

Here on this Ash Wednesday of 2022. . . I want us to investigate the circumstances that made the event of Easter necessary.

Much of the world. . . including many of our neighbors. . . regard the season of Easter as the time for colored egg hunts, chocolate eggs and bunnies, and Easter baskets.

They miss the significance of the empty tomb.

For this message. . .we will consider the question. . .

What’s the big deal about Easter?

What’s all the fuss about?
