The Autumn Equinox is coming up on September 23rd. It’s officially the calendar start for the Fall season and we on The Path celebrate this day as an important reminder of balance. Whether you’ve noticed or not, the days are getting shorter and I have noticed this when I get up to get kids ready for school that I am up before the sun again. This day is when the Light and Dark energies are equal, one of only two days in a year when this happens. This is traditionally thought of as harvest time so take a minute to count your blessings and be grateful. Happy Fall!

In this week’s extra, the Crone talks about self care from a Witchy perspective. On The Path, we think it is important to take care of all parts of our Sacred Three of Body, Mind, and Spirit. Along with the more “traditional” suggestions about caring for these three parts, we stick in some fun things to do as well because we value mirth & reverence in all things including taking care of ourselves.

Finally, today’s Tip, Trick, or Witchy Hint is all about how we use gestures all the time and that awareness makes the difference which was yet another nice synchronicity as the Sage recorded it before he knew this week’s topic.

We have begun what we celebrate as the Times of Loafmas which for us runs from early August until early November. Many others call it Lughnasadh or First Harvest but whatever you call it Happy Sabbat! We associate this season with the Element of Air which is about new knowledge and perspectives. We evaluate our personal spiritual beliefs during this season to ensure that what we practice agrees with what we think to gain the most from them.

The Crone, Elizabeth Chapman, recently published a novel called Home Place which is available on Amazon. As part of this story, there are appearances and stories of both Old & New Gods. While writing, someone suggested she write a short story about how the Gods came to be in the anonymous city which is the setting of the novel. So here is that story (tongue in cheek) for your enjoyment.
