"When I am grateful then, I win." - Jeremy Goldberg
Jeremy Goldberg is making kindness cool. He's also making getting shit done fun AF!
Jer is one of the best people I have ever met, he's also one of my favourite people to follow on Instagram and DM (I've decided that's a type of friendship now). He's the creator, coach, writer, and human behind Long Distance Love Bombs. Jeremy is trying to make the world better than yesterday. His newly released poetry book: It'll Be Okay, And You Will Be Too is full of tear-away pages of mantra's to keep you going and get you out of bed. #YASPOETRY
In this extraORDINARY interview, Jeremy shares his WHY #SimonSinekStyle along with his fast and furious origin story - from a Ph.D. in marine science to 'working online' as a coach, poet, and writer. You'll also hear the beautiful story that inspired him to start his brand and badass kindness movement, to begin with. #LongDistanceLoveBombs
This conversation is so full - it's less than an hour long but we covered #ALLTHETHINGS: Romance, art, expression, coaching, science, breakthroughs, masculinity, femininity, feelings, epiphanies, and just generally put both our hearts on soap boxes.
Jeremy really put his heart on a soapbox during this episode and talked about his first time having an epiphany, his latest romantic artistic FEAT (yes, it was a FEAT!), and shared his current feelings of uncertainty about the future. One of his heart whispers is to put on a one-man spoken word show - who's into it? I am. Let's all DM Jeremy and make this heart whisper a ROAR. Seriously, DM him, right now, keep listening to the podcast, just DM him in the meanwhile. #ONEMANJEREMY

Quotes on Masculinity & Vulnerability:
- "I have done terrible things and regretted a significant amount of things. I have shame. So does everyone else. We're not all that different. Trying to pretend otherwise is a terrible idea."
- "Big-hearted men - we need that. What's the alternative? More war? Suicide? Rape? At the root of it is people not asking for help."
- "When you see people sharing their heart you lean in."
- "One possible alternative: What if we just talk about our feelings? What if we just be cool to each other. To me, that's what kindness is about. What if we are just kind to each other?"
- "I am a dude and I have love in my brand name and my experience is that woman love that shit."
- "I identify myself as someone who can do hard things. There is so much power in that. the goal is to stay in my edge and I keep learning, growing, challenging my limiting beliefs, trying new things, meeting new people, and that's just life."
- "We feel like vulnerability will push people away and that's actually the opposite it brings people closer."
- "It's really strong to share weakness and vulnerability."
- "What if vulnerability wasn't hard? That's just a social and cultural norm. What if being honest was just normal? What if kindness, compassion, and empathy were just how we lived as a human society? Let's reconsider radically how we are living and treating each other."
Quotes on Feelings:
- "Your heart whispers and fear shouts."
- "I am chasing the edge of my life. Use that as a guidepost. I definitely have to do that. I chase discomfort."
- "Not only are you feeling sad, but now you're feeling shame for feeling sad. It's like a bonus package of SUCK."
- "The idea is there are no bad feelings, if it's coming up, it's coming out. If you're sad, be sad, cry it out. It's all energy. There are healthy ways to deal with that."
- "Feeling good about feeling bad - that, to me, is a BIG breakthrough."
Quotes on Why:
- "My why is to help people get where they want to go. Make shit happen. Get shit done. Make good shit. "
- "My greater why is helping people to live their best lives and helping myself to have those epiphany moments. Helping people to understand that they are entirely in control of any outcome that they seek. The world needs more of us living in that way. The only way to solve and address all this darkness and muck that's going on is for all of us individually and collectively live in our light."
Quotes on Entrepreneurship & Success:
- "I decided to work online - whatever the fuck that means!"
- "A big part of the entrepreneurial journey is recognizing your own worth and value in terms of what you have to offer the world. And then expanding and growing through that process and continually improving while appreciating exactly where you are in any given time."
- "I am just eternally grateful for the Internet and my voice."
- "I think it's important to be cautious of how we define things. Success for example. Success can be defined individually in so many different ways."
- "Define success as: did you do the hard and scary thing or did you not? Then, the outcome doesn't matter."
- "When I became a brand I had to raise my own standards."
- "I am really drawn to writing because I see it like a puzzle to solve."
- "Right now, I'm dealing with uncertainty about the future and accepting that I will be ok and trusting that it all works out in whatever way it's supposed to."
Quotes on Goals:
- "I am not a big fan of goals. If you have a ritual you will accomplish your goal."
- "The goals are not as important as the feeling and the day-to-day activities and rituals that I am undertaking."
- "Am I content? Am I fulfilled? Am i doing work I am proud of?
- "It's not about having goals."
- "We have all these external searches for internal acceptance and appreciation."
- "We are mostly just chasing feelings."
- "If something terrible happens and I recognize that it is growing me or I have an opportunity to learn, if I can appreciate everything, in the moment, then, I win."
Quotes on Life & Some Science:
- "One a big cosmic scale we're all irrelevant."
- "We're all on earth and we're zooming through a fucking space system around a ball of fire. Half the world is upside down and they don't even feel it. What the fuck is even life?"
- "The core tenant of science: just trying to figure shit out."
- "There are only so many rules to life. You see the world that you choose to see."
- "Our reality is totally a subjective experience we are having in our minds."
