Interview with an early-in-transition trans woman living in coastal New Hampshire. We talk about the Portsmouth New Hampshire area, growing up in Seattle Washington and its gentrification, accessing resources for and information about trans people, acceptance of her transition at her workplace, her involvement in a couple of local peer support groups, her love of board games and pinball, and her plans to start a local chapter of Belles and Chimes (a women's pinball club).

My guest is not nonbinary, but we also discuss how some people are ignorant and intolerant of nonbinary identities.

We talk about her previous feelings of not belonging and how she is living a new life, her relationship with her twin brother, successfully accessing healthcare in a small town, her relationship to other trans people in a support group, her long transition process, how trans people are negatively portrayed in popular culture, the political divisions in the US, problems associated with charter school vouchers, the harm done by banning curricula mentioning slavery, and how she is interested in teaching other women about how to use tools and build things.

I even tell a story about hitchhiking, tarantulas, the Devil and naming undesirable public utilities after awful politicians!

I really enjoyed talking with my guest and spending time in her lovely home. It is particularly brave for someone who is both a shy person and early in their transition to be interviewed and I greatly appreciated her willingness to share her story.
