    Part 2 of 2. Interview with two trans men in Houston Texas. We talk

    about my move back to Alaska, political diversity and tensions in
    Alaska, KKK and skinheads in East Texas, how conservatives disrespect
    military members who are POC, the lack of influencers from Alaska, being
    in the gay scene as trans men, gay bar closures during covid, how we
    socialize outside of gay bars (e.g. board games, dungeons and dragons),
    the arts and crafts we do for fun, trans medicalism, being a feminine
    gay man, different kinds of Texas nods, playing in sports and in a drum
    line when we were younger, dating pre- and post-transition and the
    different wording around queer identities (e.g. stud, dyke, lesbian
    etc), some of the anti-trans bills that the Texas Legislature is
    considering such as HB 1266 and HB 1029, how these bills are similar to
    the harassment of immigrants, and the lack of in-person healthcare for
    trans people.

    Part 1 of 2. Interview with two trans men in Houston Texas. We discuss

    top surgery, trans people being anti-trans, some misconceptions about
    trans people, unhealthy competition and comparisons between people, our
    first knowledge of trans people, dealing with thinning hair, the trans
    group they are involved with (see link below), Texas Governor Abbott's
    and Attorney General Ken Paxton's anti-trans actions, how large peer
    support meetings can be less helpful, the variety of gender expressions
    among men, the "Napoleon complex", being a POC in a largely white trans
    group, trans POC groups, code switching and not being your whole self in
    different situations, showing up for communities that don't show up for
    you, equal rights ordinances, the dangers of centrists' pragmatism,
    financial assistance programs for trans people, and trans people of
    color being ignored while doing non-profit work and LGBT advocacy.

    Texas. We discuss the welcoming environment at their workplace,
    appropriate ally-ship, making art in cheaper places of the country, how
    they relate to other people as an asexual person, how they acquired and
    relate to their emotional support dog, how we both love cooking for
    other people, mutual aid, what their community needs in terms of a
    gathering place, how they are motivated to do things in their daily
    life, and how we are sometimes lovingly checked by our friends.

    asexuality fits with the queer community, gatekeeping in the LGBT+
    community, having a supportive family, how therapy supports having clear boundaries, describing aspects of yourself through the gender gingerbread person and the gender unicorn, the relationship between the Transgender Equality Network of East Texas (TENET) and Tyler Area Gays (TAG), how TENET actively supports trans people by assessing local care providers, and teaching their relatives to use they/them pronouns and the word sibling.

    Interview of Bob Spencer, a former manager of the Fairbanks North Star Borough animal shelter in the 1970's. We discuss the early days of the shelter and why he created indoor drop-off kennels. We also discuss the Borough's plans NOT to include drop-off kennels in their new animal shelter and why that's a bad idea.
    With our very cold climate here in Fairbanks, it is humane to offer this service to the people who are surrendering their companion and small livestock animals. When domesticated animals are left outside in the winter without any shelter, they often freeze to death. Let's make sure that we include indoor drop-off kennels in the new shelter's construction plans!

The vote will be conducted through an electronic voting system called Intelivote. Eligible voters will be able to vote either online or over the phone using a pin that will be sent to their email.
