June 12th has been declared John Travolta day in Brooklyn, and fans turned out in the thousands to have a good old fashioned block party and celebrate the guy who put 86th street on the map!

Travolta showed up to meet fans and promote his new movie “Gotti” outside Lenny’s Pizza. It was obvious as the crowd built larger and larger that John’s Brooklyn fans adore him for putting Bensonhurst in the spotlight in “Saturday Night Fever” (especially that iconic opening scene!).

He was gracious to his fans with his wife Kelly Preston by his side, taking photos and signing autographs for as many people as he could. He did a little strut when Stayin’ Alive came on and even went up to the booth of Lenny’s Pizza to recreate his “two slices” line in the opening scene of the movie.

WCBS-FM's Joe Causi hosted the event, which was put together by Travolta’s co-star in the “Gotti” movie Will DeMeo (he plays Sammy “The Bull” Gravano), Louie Louie turned into a big fanboy as he re-lived his days walking up 86th street as a kid, and Brad Blanks was determined to get that interview with John Travolta….it turned out he would be the only one to get a few seconds with Tony Manero on this special day!

Tom Papa loves his family, so much so that he wrote a book about them! Get an inside look into the life of one of the smartest comedians we know with his brand new book “Your Dad Stole My Rake: And Other Family Dilemmas” which is out today in stores and anywhere else you decide to read! Tom stopped by this morning to talk about the book, which is a fun read about family life and gives suggestions on how to get out of sticky family situations!

Jerry Seinfeld gave the book a ringing endorsement, saying “I have been a close friend of Tom Papa for 17 years. His lack of ability to perceive even the most basic principles of human functioning have made him an invaluable asset to me as a friend and colleague. Because he sees nothing, knows nothing and understands nothing, I always seek his advice for the most complex matters. His book probably comes from a place of pure nonsense without any knowledge of anything. He is really one of my favorite people.”

Tom’s signing copies of the book 6/5 at 6pm at the Village Underground in the West Village & 6/7 at 6pm at Bookends in Ridgewood, New Jersey!

Billy Gardell impresses us every time we speak to him! He used to call in before every “Mike & Molly” season premiere, and it would be around the time his Pittsburgh Steelers were in the playoffs, so we would get a little NFL talk in!

Now Billy just told us he has been upped to a recurring role for season 2 of “Young Sheldon” which of course debuted with a bang this past TV season on CBS. Billy also starred in the CMT mini-series “Sun Records” as Colonel Tom Parker, the infamous manager of Elvis Presley - the drama was inspired by the Broadway musical “Million Dollar Quartet.” And when someone starts talking Elvis, I just can’t stop!

We covered a lot of ground this time around, everything from Chuck Lorre to the Elvis days to Sid Bream!

Billy is a funny guy who’s down to earth comedy really hits home. He’s playing Gotham Comedy Club June 1st-3rd.
