Congratulations to Billy Joel (and our friend Mark Rivera) on their record breaking 100th show at Madison Square Garden! We give our reaction to the big show and Bruce Springsteen appearing at the 100th, plus Brad Blanks was at the press conference earlier in the day & got to chat with Chaz Palminteri!
When Patty is vacationing at her country house, she is a big fan of the “Kenny and Heather in the Morning” show on 95.3 The Bridge in Towanda, PA. So much so that she has been thinking of just going to one of their local station events just to meet them one day.
Well, Scott decided he would help Patty out and get in touch with them, which seemed to be a bit more difficult then he thought -- but after a week of trying Scott was finally able to not only get them on the phone but was able to get them live on the Big Show!
Jam packed show this morning, Scott had an awkward encounter on a nude beach (and we didn't even ask about this story it was given to us as a gift!) Brad Blanks interviews Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at the red carpet premiere of his latest action flick "Skyscraper" plus Scott reveals he was in a movie, we talk about the Thai Soccer kids, the World Cup and so much more!
We're back from vacation, did you miss us? Today we're talking about how bad the movie "The First Purge" really is, the Thai soccer players stuck in the cave, the dog who was given an oxygen mask on a JetBlue flight, the DA of the day and lots more! Join the big show for a laugh or two (or three!)...
Jessica Chastain caught us by surprise the other night when she told the audience about her husband's...should we say...interesting superstition!
Lucky for us, Brad Blanks met up with Jessica on the red carpet for her upcoming movie "Woman Walks Ahead" and asked her what her husband's reaction to the comments!
"Woman Walks Ahead" is out June 29th and is about a headstrong New York painter who embarks on a dangerous journey to meet Sitting Bull, but must face off with an Army officer intent war with the Native Americans.
The radio industry, the Tri-state area and all of us at CBS-FM have lost a friend who happens to be a legend, the great Dan Ingram passed away June 24th at his home in south Florida at the age of 83.
Dan was an influence and inspiration to so many DJ’s through the years, including all of us at CBS-FM, whether it was his catchphrase "Hey, Kemosabe!" or putting listeners in "the honor group of the day."
He was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2007.
Dan Ingram was born September 7th, 1934 in Oceanside. He started his broadcasting career at radio stations on Long Island: Hofstra College, New Rochelle, and WALK-FM.
After bouncing around a bunch of radio stations, on July 3rd, 1961 he started at WABC and you couldn’t go anywhere in the area without hearing Dan and WABC! Many consider this time the glory days of radio and Dan was the poster boy!
On May 10th, 1982, Dan along with his longtime pal & Ron Lundy were on-air as the great WABC switched to a talk format. From 1991-2003, Dan found his way to WCBS-FM in different capacities, most notably as a recurring host of the New York Radio Greats show!
He appeared as a host one final time on September 16th, 2007 as a New York Radio Great, a few months after CBS-FM returned from the JACK format.
Dan called in for the CBS-FM 40th anniversary weekend with Dan Taylor in 2012, his final time on our airwaves.
Dan Ingram will be missed by us all, thank you for the gift of great radio for so many years!
