SELF CARE IS A NON-NEGOTIABLE
Agree or Disagree?
Many times, we put our self-care to the side to tend to the other people in our lives whether that be our students, our spouses, our family, or our children. Now don’t get me wrong, it is super important to tend to every single person I just listed but it’s also critical for you to tend to YOU; to take care of you; to find time to do the things that bring you joy.
Taking care of YOU is most important when you want to show up fully for your students, your loved ones, and for yourself. So I have one question for you... What are you going to do today that will help you to fill up your cup? I'll go first. I decided that a workout is going to become a part of my morning routine, starting today. I have been so inconsistent and am not getting the results I'd like for obvious reasons. If you feel any inclination to share your one thing that will help to fill up your cup, I always love to hear from you!

Lesson planning can be super time consuming and when your day is as busy as us teachers are, it can be difficult to get it done during the work day. Today, we’ll talk about a few ways to plan lessons for early childhood so that it isn’t too time consuming. We want to plan for our students’ needs, in line with curriculum, and be able to differentiate for certain students in our classrooms. Plus it should be fun in an early childhood setting!
#1. Include Learning Objectives when planning
#2. Plan AHEAD!
#3. When you plan activities, make sure you are gearing them toward your students

I’m going to be walking you through three ways to help you manage and navigate any negative behavior you may be experiencing inside your classroom. I’m super excited for this episode because classroom management is something I love to talk about! It’s something that took me a little while to figure out inside my classroom when I first became a lead teacher.
Managing negative behaviors takes work on your end, as the teacher but it does pay off. I’m not saying that every day will be rainbows and sunshine, but doing the work will help the harder days not be as hard as they could be.

Have you ever considered that there is a possibility that your mindset is affecting the style in which you’re teaching? In order to incorporate a growth mindset into the classroom, YOU have to internalize that growth mindset.
In this episode, I’m going to walk you through three ways in which you can incorporate a growth mindset into your classroom on a daily basis. When you incorporate a growth mindset, it makes a difference for the students who might be feeling hopeless; who might not be so excited to walk into the school building each day. A growth mindset can increase academic outcomes and help students strive for improvement rather than giving up and taking their mistakes or failures, personally.

Setting expectations is a critical piece in any professional space. It helps to create a working environment that is productive, motivating and collaborative. Have you ever worked with someone who didn’t meet your expectations? I know I have. It’s not easy and can be extraordinarily frustrating.
In today’s episode, I give you two ways in which you can successfully share your expectations with those working alongside you. It’s what helped me after a year of working with colleagues who did not meet my expectations. I learned a lot from that experience and wanted to share that with you, in case you’re going through something similar.

lot has happened over the last few months and a lot is changing in the coming weeks. I wanted to share some of that with you in today’s podcast episode. If anyone listening is feeling the same way or in a situation similar to mine, I want you to know that the safe choice isn’t always the right choice. The safe choice is safe, not necessarily right. For me, the safe choice was not the right choice.
