  • A Taste of Heaven

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

The auditorium was packed. As I stopped and looked around, I heard dozens of languages being spoken at the same time. We all settled into our seats as our time together was called to order. This was Evangelism Explosion's third Congress of Nations, and eighty-three different countries were represented. During that morning, we sang "How Great is Our God" (which is a powerful song in and of itself), but this time the worship leader asked for everyone to sing in their own language. Words cannot describe the beauty of that moment—where Arabic was sung alongside Czech and Fijian. And you know, this is exactly what heaven is going to be like—because every tribe, tongue, and nation will be there. And we have the privilege of inviting people to be a part of that group by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! So let’s be part of that day by being bold witnesses for God today. • Join in Prayer

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

In the book of Ephesians, we read, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." So let us not neglect praying for our brothers and sisters all around the world. They’re fighting for their faith on their knees; and often, both their lives and livelihoods are in jeopardy simply for following Christ. So how can we join them in prayer? Well firstly, we should pray for their safety as they worship and share the Gospel in cultures that discriminate against them for their faith. Secondly, we should pray for resources, as many of our brothers and sisters face poverty, hunger, and disease. And thirdly, we should pray for perseverance—that even despite what they face that they continue to grow in their walks with Christ and share it with others who need the same hope. • Our First Concern

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Have you ever heard this famous Biblical passage before? You know, it's called the Great Commission, and it's Christ's final command to us before He returned to Heaven. Unfortunately, it can be something that Christians ignore for a number of reasons. One of them is that we get involved in all kinds of seemingly good things that keep us all too busy. Jim Collins wrote a widely used book in the business world that opens with this statement, “Good is the enemy of great.” And so many times we get involved in all kinds of good things; and yet, they are not the great thing that we could be doing in seeing men and women come to Jesus. Christ said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” And His last command should be out first concern. For more resources on sharing the Gospel, visit ShareLife.Today.

  • You Can Be Certain

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

What are you completely certain about? You can be sure the sun will rise to the east and set to the west. You can be sure that one plus one will always equal two. And you can be absolutely certain that you cannot get into Heaven because of the good things you've done. Now, before you write that off as a calloused statement or simply an opinion, consider what the Bible says. The Bible tells us that no one is good, not even one. It also says to be perfect, just as your Father in Heaven is perfect. It is a real problem for us if no one is good, yet we are expected to be perfect. We simply cannot do it! This problem is solved by the Person of Jesus Christ who was both God and Man - perfect, just and full of grace. You can be certain that placing your faith in Jesus is enough for eternal salvation. Have you accepted that grace? Find out more by visiting ShareLife.Today.

  • The Truth

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

Have you ever thought, 'that may be true for them, but that's not my truth'? But if something is actually true...then, it is in fact...true! Jesus Christ said, "You will know the truth and the truth will make you free."  In fact, He declared that there is truth and not a relativistic truth.  He didn’t say you will know “a truth” or “your truth” but He said, you will know “the truth.”  Today, people will say that we can’t know anything for certain but, again, the Bible tells us in 1 John 5:13, that “These things have I written that you may know that you have eternal life." Now this is something you can count on to be true: Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and He alone can save you. By believing the truth that Jesus took your sin upon Himself and broke down the wall that kept you from a relationship with God, you can have eternal life. Visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

  • Saving Faith

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

'Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.' Do you have this kind of faith? Saving faith. You see, faith is like a key. There are many similar keys, but only one can open the door of Heaven. Let me explain first what saving faith is not. It's isn't a blind leap into the dark and it's not merely intellectual. Saving faith is not temporary faith, either. It is fully trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. It's not just believing that Jesus could be a way to get into Heaven or that He was a good man, it is a life fully surrendered and trusting Him. So have you put your faith in Jesus alone? It's the most important decision you could ever make. If you are ready to know for sure that Heaven will be your home one day, you just have to accept God's gift of grace in Jesus. • Good Isn’t Good Enough

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

Are you a good person? You know, most people would probably say they are pretty good. Not perfect all the time, but not so bad, either. But by what standard? The Bible actually gives us the standard. Jesus says in Matthew 5:48, "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Now, that creates a problem because the Bible also says 'there is no one who does good. No not one." So if our good isn't good enough, how can we earn our way into Heaven? We can't! Our best efforts could never get us close, but God, rich in mercy made a way for us! While we could never deserve it, Jesus came to earth and took our punishment upon Himself. Now all we have to do is accept God's gift of grace! So, stop trying to work your way into Heaven. Instead, place your faith in the work that Jesus did for you on the cross. • Do YOU Know For Sure?

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

I have a question for you. It may be something you don't think about often, but I am sure you have considered it before at least a time or two. Here's the question: do you know for sure that you will be with God in Heaven? Whatever your answer may be, there is another important follow up question. If you were to die today and stand before God and He were to say to you, 'why should I let you into My Heaven?' What would you say? Think about your answers to those questions, and consider the peace you could have if you did know you would spend eternity in Heaven. Heaven is a free gift that cannot be earned or deserved. All you need to do is place your faith in Jesus Christ alone. Only Jesus has the key to Heaven. So, do you know for sure? If you don't, we have resources at ShareLife.Today. ShareLife.Today.

  • Testifying to God's Faithfulness

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

Jim Sanders, Executive Vice President of Ambassador Advertising, shared about how He has seen God’s faithfulness in his own life, “God's blessing has been beyond anything I could have imagined. In between, we started a satellite delivery company called Ambos. And it's clear based on who I am and who we are, that God's hand was in it every step of the way.” Through Ambos, God used Jim and his team to help Christian radio grow—pushing Gospel content to stations around the world. Jim could see God’s hand in it all. And the same is true in our lives. When we look back, we see God’s faithfulness—how He’s guided and transformed us since we placed our trust in Him alone. And sharing our “God stories” can open doors to Gospel conversations. So today, tell someone how God’s been faithful to you—and then share the Good News. • A Bright Future

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

Jim Sanders, Executive Vice President of Ambassador Advertising, shared a powerful quote. “I love the quote from the new chairman of Home Depot, who coming on board, met with all his senior staff, and they were all talking about how wonderful it used to be, how the glory days. And he said, when your memories exceed your dreams, the end is near. And I added the corollary—when your dreams exceed your memories, the future is bright.” What a great quote! You know, it’s good to look back and remember God’s faithfulness. The stories of what He’s done encourage us and build our faith. But we can’t stay there. God’s mission moves forward — and there are still so many who need to hear the Gospel. So let’s thank God for His faithfulness yesterday and keep working for His Kingdom today. Let’s keep sharing the Greatest News. To watch the full interview with Jim Sanders, visit ShareLife.Today.
