Hi!
I hope you enjoyed todays episode. It was a lot of fun to do the research and compile all the history of Youtube and its timeline as a platform. I have such love for the platform and I genuinely believe it has so much impact and has the potential to do good for the world when used correctly. There are SO many amazing Creators over the span of 2008-2023 it would have been impossible to have documented them all so I decided to hone in on the ones I felt most nostalgic about and meant the most to me personally. Please give us a rating to help us in the rankings and drop a sub for more internet culture deep dives<3

Today we are talking about the controversial movie, "Blair Witch Project". It still holds the Guinness World Record for most profitable movie compared to how much it cost to make. It is said to have made $11,000 for every $1. And yet the actors in the movie were only paid $8,000 and struggled to book gigs after the movie came out because the world genuinely thought they were missing.

In this week's episode of the Share Your Screen Podcast Nicky and Coco dive into the celebrity cancelations of 2023. Why has there been so many more this year than any other year in recent memory? This is our theory on why the internet has created this greater sense of class consciousness, and events like the pandemic showed us this side of them we can never unsee.
Today we are discussing Forbes "Top Creators of 2023" list that recently came out. Do TikTokers or YouTubers bring in more money and who has more longevity? Let's discuss ⬇️
We made a TikTok about how one creator (Tinx) numbers looked off. They reported as having 42% engagement. The following day, they corrected the article to say that she had 0.4% engagement.
