The clothes you wear are part of your personal brand. They share a little about who you are before you even open your mouth. In this podcast, I visit with a Master Stylist for Women, Kelly Mize Holley. She shares about her shyness growing up and how she was able to help overcome that through her choice in fashion. We also talk about her entrepreneurial background and owning a clothing boutique for over ten years and what she learned from that experience. She also shares more about her current business and how she’s on a mission to help women be the best they can be by transforming one closet at a time.

Kate Atkinson is always up for an adventure. One of her biggest adventures happened after college when she attended culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Prior to enrolling full time, she took a class to get her feet wet and realized that she was in her element. She soaked up the knowledge and embraced her experience living abroad.

Fast-forward several years. Following a divorce, she relocated from Los Angeles back to Tulsa and shortly after doing so had an opportunity to be a personal chef for film director and producer Martin Scorsese while he was in Oklahoma filming Killers of the Flower Moon. She decided to pursue that opportunity, even though the timing was less than ideal. 

Our discussion will share more about that amazing opportunity! You'll also learn about her superpower and her new interesting hobby that has her flying high!

This week I'm visiting with Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Tina Parkhill. After approximately twenty years working for various companies in consultative based sales and management positions, Tina opened her own business twelve years ago, Parkhill's Liquor and Wine South.

In this episode you'll hear from Tina about her journey to college at Oklahoma State University and becoming the first female in her family to earn a college degree. You'll also learn about her professional journey following college and how she became interested in opening her own business. Yahoo! I did it! Last week I got to check off a major bucket list item - hiking the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim. This goal provided an incredible opportunity to train, both mentally and physically, and experience one of the Seven Wonders of the World up close and personal. Tia Baker and her kids have specific dietary restrictions that have left them with few choices when it comes to gluten-free and dairy-free options outside of their home, so she set out to create her own healthy treat. Tia's Superfood Brownies were created to be delcious and nutritious and are now available throughout the Tulsa area. During our visit, Tia shares why she left her teaching job to pursue the brownie business, what has been difficult and her forward-thinking mindset about the future of her business! 

Mia Mascarin-Oven is a fourth-generation wine maker living in Tulsa. She joined the family wine business, 32 Winds Wine, shortly after her father realized his own life-long dream of starting a wine business and opened the vineyard in 2009. Prior to joining the venture, she logged twenty plus years working in the energy industry.

Mia’s family left California and moved to Oklahoma, where she grew up and went to high school. She stayed close to her Italian immigrant family back in California through frequent visits to the family farm. She and her father decided to deepen their ties to their California roots by embarking on the adventure of starting a winery there. Her job duties are primarily accomplished remotely, so she is able to live anywhere and enjoys the city and lifestyle that Tulsa provides.

Mia is extremely passionate about giving back to the community and does so in a variety of ways. This interview shares more about Mia, her background of over a decade in the family wine business and why she thinks it’s important to give-back.

In recognition of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month, I sat down with Registered and Licensed Dietician, Stephanie Harris. As a busy mom of two boys, she has alot on her plate - literally! And coaches people regarding what they have on theirs!

Our conversation shares alot including why weight isn't necessarily wellness and the importance of emphasizing a routine of rest. We also discuss the versatility, continuing education and coaching aspect of her career. And she shares tips on positively interacting with your child if/when the topic of weight or health arises.
