  • 7. Prioritizing Mental Health and Callusing Your Mind with Reece Ellsworth

Reece Ellsworth is one of the most mentally tough dudes I know, which pairs perfectly with his current endeavors as a police officer in Colorado, as well as his passion for MMA. I had the pleasure of working with him at Nike, which is where we really got to know each other, and I knew pretty quickly that he was someone I would remain close with no matter where our paths took us.

On this podcast, we dive into how and why he developed an interest in law enforcement. We also spend a lot of time talking about mental health, including what could be implemented to help that of first responders and occupations of similar intensity.

Reece also talks about the biggest mental obstacles he's overcome, the biggest lessons he learned while working for Nike and the biggest difference between who he is today and who he was 5 years ago.

I was super grateful to have the opportunity to sit down with him while he was in town, and I think you're really going to enjoy this one.

  • 5. Blind Optimism & Failing Forward with Payam Bipar

When I think about dudes who have a clear vision, values and a rock solid mindset, Payam Bipar is one of the first that comes to mind. He's one of the most insightful and knowledge dropping dudes that I've had the pleasure of connecting with, and the man is only 22 years old.

That's not to taking anything away from anyone in that age bracket, but for his age, he has already been through a ton whether it's been on the business side of things, or just life in general.

He's unapologetically himself and stays rooted in his belief system but is still open to discussion and debate about whatever you want.

We actually went to high school together, but never really got to connect, sit down and have a conversation like this with each other until this podcast. Nonetheless, I knew he was someone that would be awesome to sit down with, and he definitely did not disappoint.

We talk about how to embrace the idea that your efforts aren't going to waste, even if you aren't reaping the rewards right away.

We also get into how to deal with feeling stuck in your environment, and what it takes to start surrounding yourself with more like minded people.

Finally, I ask him how he deals with comparison, and why he actually appreciates where he's at despite the fact that people even younger than him are crushing it in their space.

All of these wisdom nuggets and so much more in this interview with Payam. I think you're gonna love this one.

  • 4. Living in Gratitude and Taking Ownership with Coach Kevin Turner

Coach Kev is actually the first person that I ever attempted to do an interview with over two years ago before I even owned any equipment. He recorded it on his iPad, but much to our disappointment, it ended up dying at some point during the interview.

So here we are again doing it for real this time.

Coach is one of the realest dudes I've ever come into contact with. "Real" gets thrown around a lot, but when I say that, I mean he is radically true to his mentality, approach to life and training. That's not to say he's not open minded, but if you don't like what he says, what he does or why he does it, he just knows that he's not the right person for you.

He's also dealt with more adversity than a lot of people I know, but still manages to live in gratitude no matter the hand he is dealt.

Coach was born in Kingston, Jamaica and possesses the skill and eye of a fine artist as well as the experience of a former athlete in track and field and football. He possesses over 30 years of experience in training professional athletes, collegiate athletes, youth athletes and those dedicated to optimal health and longevity. He has cultivated a unique philosophy around training which he calls "The WAY Method."

We actually don't discuss a whole lot of fitness and training, but that's alright because there's still a ton of substance in this interview and I can promise you that this won't be his last time on the show.

  • 3. Self Love & Investing In Yourself with Sugi

My friend Sugi is also someone that I had the pleasure of meeting as a result of my time at Nike.

We get into some of the mental health challenges she has battled, but also how she's alchemized them into raising awareness through her clothing brand.

She's passionate about giving back and helping out those who are less fortunate and she's exactly the type of person that we need more of in the world.

She is also a photographer and shares a valuable lesson that being behind the camera has taught her, along with how she prioritizes her time between that and her clothing brand.

I had a great time sitting down with her, and there's some amazing take homes in the interview so I hope you guys enjoy.

  • 2. Energy Healing & Emotional Availability with Abby Avallon

On this episode I'm joined by Abby Avallon, who is a former coworker of mine from when we worked together at Nike.

I'm super grateful that we met during my time there because she's been one of the most genuinely easy to connect with people that I've had the pleasure of knowing.

She's a private coach of yoga therapy, hypnotherapy and reiki healing and we touch on how this work has molded who she is today and how she felt so connected to energy at such a young age.

I feel like even after this interview, I have so many more questions for her and things to learn as I have barely even begun to scratch the surface of what's available for me through yoga, meditation and spirituality.

There are tons of truths, wisdom and amazing stories in this interview and also plenty of takeaways to get your brain firing and wiring new ways to look at your life and the possibilities that await you. Enjoy!
